I was bored and I had recorded these two tracks about 8 months ago. I was in the beginning stage of learning how to record music when I did these. So I decided to redo the mix. You know, add compression, filters and such. When I originally did these they had no vst's applied and I new very little about proper levels and such. But now they do sound better than the originals. The first is a cover of the song "Having A Bad Time" by Angel. The second is a cover of "Gotta Get Away" by The Offspring. The first tune came out pretty good and there are few mistakes. The Offspring tune I had touble with the beat (my beginning stage of drumming) at a few places :). But here they are for your enjoyment or laughter (I suck at the vocals).

Having A Bad Time....can't say I remember the original...
The music sounds pretty good really...vocals have a distant sound to them...maybe too much verb? Make them drier and see.....but the tune is ok. I like it.

Offspring Tune...I know this one....I hear ya on the intro. :D

Nice sound though....once it got going I knew for sure what you wanted. Vocals are too wet again...make them a bit drier and see what happens. Or, give me a version and let me hose it up....:D

Overall, sounds fun to me....

Thanks for the listen. I really need to take the time and redo the vocals. They were done a while back and I just did a one take on them. I know now I can do them better. I need to get off my ass and make a vocal booth or just a treated area for vocals. I did use to much reverb on it. I was trying to help my singing out. Tryin to hide it :) Im imbarassed on the drum thing though. I need to redo them too on the Offspring tune.

As far as vocal treatment, I've had good luck with a simple 2 walled thing in a corner with some foam for deadening....doesn't take up much space, but does kill alot of room sound for me.

I need to get some Aurelex foam. I see they have a special running at most stores. Maybe my cheap ass need to get some. :)
