hey guys.

so i haven't posted my originals in a while (well a few back on the mic forum etc)

but here's my newest!

kind of a rock type thing

most of my stuff lately has been tuned a full step down, so DGCF style.

used a custom FatStrat through a Marshall JCM2000 for the guitars, with a shure sm57 and sennheiser e609

also some acoustic in there (see if you can hear it!) mixed line out with mic'ing with an sm57

used a G&L L2000 bass through a Gallien Krueger Backline 600 head...did direct out mixed with micing a Sunn 4x15 bass cab with the Sennheiser...

used an Art TubeMP preamp on some of the mics

Been a while.... Fabulous guitar work! I really enjoyed this one! Mix sounds great!

First thing I noticed was the lack of distinction between the lead and the rhythm guitars. The high-hat sounds a bit loud, or just too bright. Bass is fabulous, sits well. I like the double tracked idea for the rhythm guitars, sounds good, just need that lead to scream just a bit more, although this problem seems to get a bit better during the main guit solo. For the quality of playing I would have to say that the drums come in a distant last. Guitars and bass are very well done though. Do you have songs with lyrics? Love to hear them.

i do admit, i'm no drummer lol. always have been a bassist since day one ten years ago, and a guitarist of 9 years. drums is only 5. however, I was taught for years with professional lessons for bass/guitar, but never for drums!

so make the lead scream a bit more? the only reason why i kept it a tad low was so the pinch harmonic wouldn't be too annoying to the everyday ear, lol...but i'll take that into consideration!

and lastly, i can't sing for shit....lol i was thinking of writing lyrics to this, as i had a melody (kind of) in my head in the shower this morning..but naturally i forgot it, and idk what to write about lol
