Have you upgraded to version 4.0?

How many are still using an older version?

Have the bugs been worked out in 4.0.4? I'm really looking forward to the upgrade, is there much, if any of a functional difference, is the interface laid out any differently?

I still use 4.02 (never had an older version) and have not yet updated to 4.04 (I plan to though), but I have not had any problems that I can recall using n-Track 4.0 and I have used it a lot for audio stuff, but not MIDI, yet.

Well...not really

Well, the only real difference in the 4.X versions of n-trak is the fact that it comes with the FASoft compressor unlike it did in the past. It also automatically ataches a compressor to each track you are mixing. Its better, yet, its still the same.

Auto compressor, huh?

Does it attach it "off" or is it set to some pre-set?

I'd like to know that too. I am about to shift over. I use Vegas right now, but I never registered it, so it's lacking in a few areas (won't accept an mp3 file without the plugin I can't download. I tried to register it, but it told me that my registery number is not on file?). In Vegas, it automatically loads compression, eq and a noisegate on each track, but they are off until you adjust them, so I'd like to know about ntrack too...

You can remove the compressor from the tracks. There is an EQ also that is permanent, but it can be left flat so that it does not affect anything. I use the built in EQ, but not the compressor.

Freakin' sweet! That was probably my biggest complaint about Ver.3, was accessing the EQ, having to add new bands, slide them where you needed, etc...

I had a free upgrade to 4.x and when i tried it, it sucked ass.....im staying at 3.3 until i get the word that a stable version is out.....has that happened yet?.....anyone?......Bueller?......Bueller?.......

no Ive decided I wont be a guinea pig again..... :)

I suspect that if I was to buy it now, it would be version 4.0? Since I never had it in the past, though, I think my opinion wouldn't be of much use to you.

Since EQ/Compression are definitely something I need to work on....I'm gonna have to start funneling my extra pocket change into my closet bank account again, saving enough money to buy a money order to send to Flavio in Italy, to stay under the wifes GAS radar...

The sad thing is, I'm not entirely kidding...

I have 4.0.4 and the compression and eq is sick. No program does it as well. I like seeing everything in real time.

i think I may take a whack at 4.0.4.....anyone wanna warn me against it?......

cellar, you could always sell blood/plasma,sperm.......

no no no no little piggly wiggly, it's fine, it works good, you'll be happy little guinea piggy :D

I've got 4.0 and I'm digging on it. That compressor is attached to every track, but it's defaulted to the "nothing happens" setting, just like the eq. The only gripe I've got so far is that every now and then, it will randomly unalign one of my tracks when I'm recording. No real biggie...just drag them back. Haven't bothered with 4.0.4 yet.
