well, if the proceeds of selling his baby batter goes toward upgrading to 4.0, then its still on topic......

sick, but on topic..... :D

Ntrack ver 4.0.4 build 1801

I bought version 4.0.2 and upgraded to 4.0.4

I am dissapointed with both of these programs.

I dont know about the rest of you out there but I have always experienced
problems. These are some of them.

Program hangs, cant shut it down, have restart the computer.

Cant select to record a Mono track. I try it and program hangs. Another
restart. I have to record double mono.

For some reason the EQ and compressor in 4.0.4 (which appear automatically if you decide you want this option) have gone tits up. All the screen shows
now is a double size EQ panel and no compressor panel at all.

Try to import a WAV file. Select one but change my mind and dont open it.
Try to select another file to open instead. Program hangs. Another computer
restart.

These things dont happen every time but often enough to make me sick of
the program.

In my opinion the program is potentially very good but marred by bugs.

 Cheese and rice! Glad I didn't plunk down my $30 for the upgrade.

Anybody else having these problems?

i went ahead and downloaded 4.0.4....recorded 2 tracks......hit mixdown and it kept freezing at like 70%......pissed me off.......recorded fine though.....ill try again when my patience is better......

3.3 rocks.....the EQ works well enuff for me and theres compressors out there for free that work as well or better than N-Tracks.....may not be built in but thats not a problem for me......

I have the 4.04 version. I am new at using nTrack, but I imported three different wav files and mixed 'em down just to see if I could get my machine to hang. Worked fine.

I have a Compaq Presario P4 laptop with 512mb of ram.

This Sounds more like a problem with your comp and soundcard communicating properly. I used to have an Aardvark 24/96 and it gave me all sorts of fits with the computer. It was very picky about the environment it was running in. I used Cakewalk at the time. You might check into compatibility issues. Have you used any other recording programs? What soundcard are you using?
