Haven't seen Venom anywhere here when talking about music that sucks...

I know one thing for sure. I write my own songs. I spend days recording them. I mix and mix to get it just right. I have great equipment to allow me to do this. Then, when the master CD is done, I listen very critically.

Im sure your being VERY harsh on yourself mate. Its SO easy to be over critical of your won music. Honestly. What i HAVE done is recorded sumthin in a mammoth long session at home,,,,got it just right,,then played it next day and felt as if i had gone feckin deaf the night before cos of the mix id done!
By the way,,,,i LKE VENOM!
First 3 albums,,,,classic comedy black metal! I love the pic on the back cover of the first album where they are oddly on a beack tryin to pose all eveil and nast with an axe and growling faces,,,,but Cronos has a apair of Adidas Kick trainers on,,,which kinda spoils the satanic vibe !

Pink Floyd is absolutely wretched. Great songs, but they're all 8 1/2 minutes too long.
Anything 70's and corporate (Frampton, Boston, Journey, et al) is second on my "fun list" right behind "stabbing out my left eye with a hot rusty nail."
The Eagles are pig vomit. Never have I seen so many talented individuals do so little quality work.

I dunno Toker... the whole object of this thread is kinda vile... it's like placing a single & desperate handsome man in a club full of beautiful willing ladies, and telling him he can't look at them or touch them...
Stating what you think that sucks, without having the opportunity to defend your points, when someone else disagrees is just lame.
So first, I dunno what's with you fucks, but why do ya hate Boston? Because Scholz plays better guitar, keys and produces better than you??? Jealous losers... Yes, it's slick produced, but I rather have a slick production which can truly showcase the talent and songs, than having a crappy (wannabe 'vintage') production, for the sake of being retro (re: White Stripes).
I agree with the poster that said that KISS gets dissed because of a few lame well-known songs, while they have many great songs.

I hate the kind of bands that people listen to, to make themselves look more intelligent (usually what a lot of jazz-wannabe's do...), you know, the kind of bands that seem original and fresh, yet if you dare to look a decade or so back, they're just another copy...
Coldplay, Radiohead, Dave Matthews Band, Smashing Pumpkins.
also I really think Bob Dylan is way overrated, as with a lot of those psychedelic folk-songwriters... man, they themselves probably think their lyrics are just words glued together, that will only sound 'deep' or intelligent if the beholder wants them to.
Bruce Springsteen... take away the husky voice and you'll have empty pop-songs and a lame-ass guitarplayer.
Oh, and another thing about Yngwie Malmsteen;
someone said he had no talent. BULLSHIT! You may not like him, and think he's too much "meedley-weedley-sweepey" (I think so too for 60%, the other 30%=Richie Blackmore and the last 10% is great tone and vibrato), but playing stuff like he does REQUIRES talent!!! PEriod. No discussion.
Look, if you were to say that Kurt Cobain has no guitar-talent, I completely agree... the stuff Cobain plays, can be tought to almost any monkey with enough memory for
a) a barré chord
b) open-string licks
but sweep-picking solidly at 200bpm requires goddamn talent, skill, determination and practice, o.k.?
Like I said, you may not like it (I can fully understand, it's not the most musical approach to a good guitar-solo), but not everyone can pull it off.

You don't need to fuck yourself. You make a good point. The whole reason I asked for this not to be a debate thread (and I even said "PLEASE") was becasue I wanted to avoid this very kind of thing. I have heard a million times why people love the greats, but whenever someone starts to give another opinion they get shot down, and it turns into a "you don't know what you're talking about" arguement and I never really do get to hear what people DON'T LIKE about the greats. Thought maybe this would be a good way to get to hear a few of them, but there is always going to be assholes that just HAVE TO START SHIT. If I asked "how do I mic a snare drum" would you expect people to reply with post about bass guitar? So why then when I ask what people don't like do I get idiots that jump in and post what they DO like? Answer....some people just HAVE to start shit
