Hair Metal Roxx!
So I jumped off my other song and started playing around with a rock song to see what I can get out of mic'ing a small amp(and its really really small). I am new to this as years ago I only DI'ed everything. How do the guitars sound? They almost sound muffled to me but can't get it any more high end without it sounding honky.

I cut frequencies to leave a hole for the bass which seems to come through pretty good.

Please excuse my pitchyness. It was early morning lol

and yes, I am a child of the 90's Hair Metal lol

Thank god you admit it! :D
The guys who can't even hear it are the real problem.

You've partially passed your partial test. ;)
Vocals aside, the guitar/drums/etc sound good and nicely balanced....
...and we try to make concessions for '90s hair metal children. :p

Your other tune, "Uncertainty" which automatically came up in the playlist...has some possibilities. It's got an interesting structure/arrangment. Vox need work.

oh believe me I hear it, just playing around at this stage anyway. I can't sing so trying to put something in key will be a task in itself. But trying to get good music down first, then the rest can come later lol

Thanks for the reply!

Wow! You've got Rob Halford-range, but presumably without the homoerotic leather outfits. And you don't seem to have a problem growing hair. I can't tell if the guitars sound muffled or if they just need to be louder. In my opinion (which may not be one to be respected too much when it comes to this stuff), the bass guitar-to-guitar ratio is currently too much in favor of the bass guitar.

Guitar and bass sound good, too much room on the snare for my taste (but that's just me).

Thanks for the comments guys! I can see if I can pull off some of the space on the snare and maybe bring the bass down a notch to see if the guitars come through a little cleaner.

Bright, I have no homoerotic leather...only leather I have is when I am riding my bike. I do admire his range though....crazy what he can do.

What concerned me was trying to mic such a small amp. I am buying a little bit at a time to get back into recording and have not purchased an amp yet but I couldn't believe the sound that was recorded with this little guy.

I recorded the guitars with a SM57 on an Epiphone 10S practice amp and a Les Paul.

The snare sounded a bit weak, eh? Could use more body.
I think that the guitars have a proper stoner rock sound.
The vocal could go down a bit more or you could turn everything else up.
