Has anyone tried any AKG Headphones?

I'm looking at the ATH-M40fs or the ATH-D40fs and I was wondering if anyone has used them. Do they break easy, how do they compare to the
HD 280s or the DT 770?

How about some AKG Headphones?

Also if anyone has a better option for HeadPhones that would be great too.

They are excellent - very high power handling, about 2-3 times as much as any other headphone - great for tracking! And they sound good too!!

Hey Blue:
I'm assuming you are talking about the AT ATH-M40 types? I have a chance to get some relatively inexpensive, but after making a search in this forum no one seems to use them.

I've been using the M40fs's for a while now, very accurate sounding to me. They also seem to be indestructable cause they've been yanked, dropped and rolled over by office chairs and they're still kickin :D

BTW, I also find them less fatiguing compared to others I've used. ;)

I've had my M40fs's for years, and they get beat hard, and I really like them.

Get the M40s, not the D40s. The Ds have a big bass boost, the Ms are flat.

M40fs's I have 10 pairs of them in the studio most peoplr seem to like them.

Well, I just finished getting a pair of DT 770s for $157.00 with shipping on e-bay. So, that will be all the HeadPhones I'll need for now.
