Has anyone ever won free gear?

I won a free Ipod and a shitload of spam.

The spam came right away and keeps coming. But still have not got the Ipod yet..... :eek: :eek:
 
I've won a C-1000 from one site and a Feedback Destroyer (Behringer) from another. I still use the C-1000 from time to time but I donated the Feedback Destroyer to a church auction. Believe it or not the thing went for $250. (it was for a good cause LOL!) :)
 
Dang. I've never won any recording gear before. I've entered in the MF contest but i've never won.

Someone paid me to take a C1000 once. If I recall, I turned them down...
 
I believe it was in 1984(?) I won 3rd place in the Kahler National Guitar Competition. They made a whammy bar setup that competed with Floyd Rose. Prize was a Fostex X-15 4 track.

$1000 gift card from Guitar center.

Almost countless concert tickets from local radio stations
 
I haven't won any gear in contests, but I've given away around $15,000 worth of gear at Studio Forums in the last few years. Right now we're giving away an A Designs 500 series mic preamp module. Some of the juicy stuff we've given away include a Great River ME-1NV mic preamp, Peluso 22 47 LE tube mic, and an A Designs MP-1 tube preamp. Pretty rewarding to let someone know they've just scored a free $1600 mic. : )

A Tele guitar kit got delivered to my house, the return address is some distribution center that doesn't have a clue who sent it. They only ship stuff, so once I have time to spray a finish...I'll be rockin' out!

guy I had an argument a year ago .I returned
the box.
I won a thousand bucks from KLOS along time ago.

I would give my left nut to win the mp1 a pre-amp. Throw in the blue, red, and silver and you could have the right one too(extracted with a rusty fork) :eek:
hell any pre-amp is better than the one i got now(none). Then i read the rules.

Must have at least 50+ posts made between July 1st, 2006 and August 31, 2006.

I dont want to waste my time posting 50 half ass thought out threads just so some gear slut can win this and throw it in his pile of
-will maby use someday- I figure if i keep my nose to the grindstone entering the contest i hear about..... maby a few years down the road ..... I may get picked for 15th place prize of a set of Lo-Z mic cable's :(

My dream in life is to find a box full of vintage Neumann U-87's at a garage sale for $20

I'm one of the winners from Dot's drawings over at Studio Forums. I "won" a Red5 RV8 mic. I really like this mic and was in need of a better transparent LD, this fit the bill. It's the best thing I've ever scored in a drawing. This thing rawks on overheads and does really well on acoustic instruments. I'll say thanks again Dot. You have an awesome site. I haven't been able to visit while at work anymore. For some reason it gets blocked by our firewall. Really miss it.

Three years ago I won an audio editing software package which I sold on Ebay since it was for Mac and I have PCs.
