Harmonica effects on a radio mike on a 100 watt amp

I do a 11/2 hour harmonica show using a small amp, an iPod for backing tracks and a small radio fixed to the harmonica.
Because the effects on the amp aren't as good as I would like, I'm trying to find a small effects board I can put between the amp and the mic to give me better echo and reverb on the harmonica sound.
Help would be appreciated.

Why not get an amp that has a good echo and reverb already built in?

Radio mic - do you mean a wireless mic? Does the receiver have an FX loop on it?

You could probably use any guitar pedal/multieffects pedal system, and just use the amp for amplification.

What Pinky said. I have a Behringer V-amp connected to my harp amplifier it works great. I get some great sounds :cool:

a harp guy who i recorded used a shure green bullet mic into a pod, which was set on a fender deluxe reverb emulation, then sent that pod signal out to my mixer, no amp. in case you want to check out that how that combination of gear sounds, here's an mp3 of that track...

One seemingly popular approach I've read about (but not tried myself, yet) is Mic -> Digitech RP-255 (or higher) with patches from Hunter Harp -> straight into the PA. I've read about this on the harp-l.org mailing list: Harp-L Info Page

I haven't yet tried this because of: expense (acquiring gear slowly), and personal preference (usually) for the more natural/acoustic sounds of harmonica.
