I need to record really good sounding sampled acoustic instruments. I would like:
Easy, intuitive, mindless operation.
No cooling fan noise.
Tons of great sounds.
Is there a hardware sampler I should check out, or is GigaStudio the only way?
Thanks,
Doug

Emu E6400 Ultra, Emu EX4T Ultra, and above.
Get one with 128 voice polyphony, IDE drive support and EOS4.6 if possible.

Beautiful sounding units.

the sampling on the kurzweil k-series is pretty good, too. if you don't care about VAST (Variable Architecture Synthesis Technology or somesuch), it's pretty easy - and if you want to manipulate the sounds a bit, it's a good one.

i'm actually selling one for $300, if you're interested. if not, no prob. might want to check out the k2500 and k2600 if you want something newer.

Buy Gigastudio and run it on a dedicated Muse Receptor rackmount.

Thats an over the top solution...

EMU's are excellent...should be able to pick up a cheap one used these days...Very user friendly...!!

Or and AKAI s5000 or a cheaper S3000 will do the job for ya too'

most Pro-producers still rely on hardware samplers and have atleast one in their studios' their beauty is they can recordsample without having to take your PC out with you.....which helps if your travelling to sample your instruments...!!!
