Are the in tune? There's something not quite right about the bass.
I think you need to re-address the panning. Stereo the keyboards with wider panning push the bass to centre and pan your drum overheads a little better.
The keyboard sound works in a late 60's way esp when you push it into distortion.
Have you eaten too much E.L.P.?
Keep working on this - it could be good proggy stuff.
Is the Haggia Sophia part of Spania?

The Hagia Sophia was part of the Byzentine Empire, which controlled Spania.

I'm pretty sure the bass is in tune. I do have problems with the E string, but I rarely play that. I was tuning up every 3-4 takes.

As far as panning goes, meh, personal preference. I don't like both bass guitar and bass drum being center.

Keyboard sound was inspired more by Jon Lord than Keith Emerson. But yeah, going for the early 70s crunchy organ sound there.

The drums do sound great. I can't hear the bass much but I think the keys drown it out at times. The vocals sound a lot like Vovoid. Nice keyboard work. I think you could do a lot with this tune. I am a fan of Prog rock. Some shred gtr in there would do wonders for this tune.

Yeah, I don't play guitar, so you won't be hearing any of that sadly :p

yeah, the tone is Lord but the lines are Emerson.
Actually the basillica was Byzantine; the mosque? - I don't know what dynasty Ottoman would be the obvious (probably too much so)!
Minarettes certainly changed the look.
You've a good start but something doesn't sit right with the bass. It's not quite in the pocket.
keep working on it - it's worth the effort.

Oh yeah, very ELP, like Ray said! Nice prog sound, reminiscent of the 70's. I'd work on the voice a bit, even if you have to do them phrase by phrase. Very interesting song. Bass is pretty much up front, but I think that was what you intended. Great drumming!

Cheers
Joe

Yeah, I ain't no singer, I had to actually play the melody on keyboards and sing along to it, then sing along to that, and then sing along a third time before I had passable vocals (i.e. being somewhat in tune) then did heavy pitch correction on specific syllables.

Interesting on the ELP comments, I don't see the connection, but I do like them and own Tarkus and Brain Salad Surgery, so I'm sure they have a good influence on me (the bass/drum/key instrumentation for example). I was aiming for a more Deep Purple influenced record with a few touches of Metallica thrown in.
