have anyone ever heard of Har-Bal mastering program or ever used it? if so does it work good or not?

I've played with it. Not something I would pay for though. There's far more important things to buy and concentrate on than some magical genie in a bottle software program.

LOL!

This is a recording forum... ya know??

That's like going to an acting forum and asking if anyone has heard of Keanu Reeves.

I REALLY like HarBal for the ability to compare two different sources. For instance, I like to use it while mixing to see where the snare and guitars are fighting or where the kick drum and bass guitar are fighting. It's the only program I know of that allows you to do that (there are probably others I don't know about... I've never really looked).

I realize that music is all about what we *hear* but my ears aren't trained enough to be able to say "Oh, the snare and guitars are obviously clashing at 200Hz." So, it's nice to be able to see what's going on. But I don't use it as a "mastering" tool or even as an EQ. I use it simply as a spectrum analysis tool.

Here is a thread that discusses HarBal: https://homerecording.com/bbs/showthread.php?t=154909&page=1&pp=25&highlight=harbal
