Hi all,
Can anyone help me with an ASIO problem ?
I'm using Cubase Essential on a PC (Vista) with a Pentium Dual Processor and 2gb RAM. This is my music PC and is only used for this purpose (it's not even connected to the internet!) the only other software on the HD is mainly Steinberg stuff... but masses of spare space.
I recently purchased Halion Sonic and loaded it onto my PC... the installation was perfect.
When I load Halion Sonic in as a VST in the usual manner, it loads just fine, but if I allocate an instrument sound (program) to anything more than 4 tracks in a MIDI file, the ASIO warning light blinks on and each time it does, it creates a click and a glich.... it's driving me nuts!
When I turn off the global effects in Halion Sonic the ASIO performance level plummets to almost nothing (less than 20%).... turn them back on and the clipping light flashes again.
Any ideas ?
More RAM ? Adjust the latency? Buffers? If anyone thinks the problem is with latency and/or buffers... what settings do you recommend ?
many thanks,
Kevin Hookham
