Hafler Amp Question

Hi, I just purchased a Hafler P3000 amp, and the user manual doesn't speak my kind of English. There are two, what appear to be volume control dials on the front, but I don't understand the number increments. If I turn the gain down all the way, I still get some volume of signal out of my monitors. So, is this standard for professional power amps to not have the ability to turn the volume down all the way on the unit itself. And does that mean I have to use my music software volume controls to regulate this, or what?

Also, there is a bridged mono and/or stereo option, but I am not sure what these mean exactly, or what setting I should use. Does bridged mono mean I will get sound from amp channel 1 through one monitor speaker, and channel 2 sound through my other speaker. I assume the stereo option distributes the signal to both speakers.

Yes, it is common for amps and some pres to have a volume control that does not go down to "zero." You wil be using the Hafler in stereo mode in your studio. The bridge feature allow you to use both amplifiers as one for mono operation.

Thanks! Damn, I was hoping that I could control the volume fully, but I can live with that.

Bridging to mono will have 1 channel distribute power to both speakers (in mono) doubling the output wattage to the speakers
