HA4600 vs HA4700

Just to reiterate- Who records anything but bass and keys with a DI? If you are using a mic obviously you need to hit a preamp before you start splitting off the signal to other devices.

I'm not trying to be a dick or anything (it just comes naturally). I guess I am alone in thinking I would rather just wire up the aux inputs to the mixer sends or patchbay and call it done. I guess this is my punishment for buying my first piece of Behringer gear.

I guess you're not getting my point. SonicAlbert was using the example of an "instrumentalist" (notice quote above). He wasn't talking about a mic. I would agree with you (and I think SonicAlbert would too) that if you're talking about a mic, then it would be best to send and aux send from the mixer or an extra output from the preamp to the Behringer box. But, SA (and I) was talking about was the example of an instrumentalist... not a vocalist.

So no one is wrong or goofy here.
