The track reminded me of a few curries I've had ... damn what a tune. I'll claim it if no-one else wants it - that's right it's MY tune, although I did pay a session pooper to play the parts. The mic positioning was well tough!
...and you used a crappy mic, right?

(Still ROTFL! :D )

It feels like you wouldn't mind if I post a link to some crap and say it's your work... that's ok with you right?

Actually, that was some funny shit (pun somewhat intended). So no. I wouldn't mind... As long as I knew about it and had a chance to say something about it for all to see... Just as has happened with this.

However, I'm now beginning to see there's no hope of this becoming as useful Microphone Forum thread (It was a far-fetched hope in the first place though.). Assuming nothing changes, I will be moving this to The Dragon Cave Forum in a day.

I liked the airy top and the sparkling highs. What mics were used and how did you place them?

Yes, and that low-end was like thunder! (See RE, it's still about mics! ;))

It was a new recording by Lionel Wretchie and the Commode-a-dors.

i think you've all made your point...

... i've held off posting in these threads, but it seems they are hard to avoid, as quite a few of them turn this way. i am here to learn all i can from this forum, and i appreciate the experienced folks who take their time to answer questions. i am also trying to give back what little i may have to offer as well.
although some of you feel personally attacked, and rightfully so in some cases, i think it's a waste of time to turn this forum into a bit of a soap opera. it's a shame to see a simple inquiry by a newbie about a mic, turn into a bitchfest between people with some other score to settle. i no longer automatically look to read advice from those who have 3000 posts here... more than half of these posts could just be name calling.
once again, thanks very much to those who help raise the bar. i'm not saying it has to be all business here, but i think we can all agree that there is a line, and a lot of this is on the silly, vindictive, unproductive side of that line.

Many of us just seem to do this for the entertainment value, to add some minimal interest to our pathetic meaningless little lives. I'm sorry you have to wade through all this shit, only to find it contains no relevant information.

Much of life is like that. :)

Much of life is like that...

... i understand entertainment, and i'm all about having fun, and even a somewhat heated, intelligent, debate on a meaningful subject... but i don't find most of this funny or entertaining. i guess that is my cue to just butt out, and try to ignore this sort of stuff.
whatever floats yer boat. i would never mean to preach.
over and out- jv

That's because you don't have a pathetic, meaningless life.

You can leave it here or move it... do whatever you want with it... I'm done with the thread so I don't care either way.

What I have a hard time with is most of these are NOT simple mic inquires by newbies...

recording engineer...

... i hope i wasn't missunderstood. i wasn't talking specifically about this thread, but thought it might be an appropriate place to voice my opinion. maybe i was wrong. i was just talking about some of the threads that do start out as informative, but are then hijacked into this sort of thing by folks who don't like each other.
for the record, i'm over it. i guess it's really not a big deal. it's just something i found frustrating, and thought maybe others had the same experience. i have received much useful info from some great people on this forum. i can hang with digging through a bit of muck to get to the good stuff. as crazydoc said, much of life is like that.
