I Need Opinions And Tips On Our Mix ---

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sup borthers,

I just wanted to see if some of you could give me some feedback on
own current songs and their mix....

Theres something wrong and I think it's the fact that the drums are always to loud and the guitars you can barely understand what they are playing... But sice you guys are more experts on the subject , some help would be grately apreciated... I bet you're going to find a lot of more problems.

The only thing is that I don't have a website, and don't even know how to upload the songs, and I'm not about to create an account for soundclick or any of those right now... So it would have to be through AIM that I could send you the songs..or MSN.

SO IF YOUR INTERESTED POST AND MY AIM IS venejerjose

ANY help would be aprecciated..
And I hope you like the music too ...It's good music...it's not any of that screaming bs. it's good rock.
Peace
Jose

Thanx G!

I owe you big time bro.!

Hey guys there's one of our songs! Our name is VENEJER... we wrote and recorded the song. We are from South Florida, and we're gonna rock your a$$es!

I'm Guitars and back Vocals.

We are using the ROLAND Si-24 Pro studio package.. which brings the Si-24 interface and E-Logic software. BIG sound for Small money. And AKG, and shure mikes.

We are pretty happy with the sound, guitar, bass, drums and vocalwise, but Still some I would be happy if you would give some feedback, positive or negative, either one is perfect :D This is the latest song we have recorded, I'll ask NL5 too see if he can put up some more..but they don't sound ass good as this one ;)... we are learning everyday.

So listen to it and tell me what you think! Thanx in advance.

Peace.
Jose

I'm having problems downloading your songs. I had to put mine up on soundclick because my comp keeps freezing during the download. You can email them to me at richreil@earthlink.net. I can't wait to here them.

Levels?..nah..effects.

Hello Venejer. I'm Randy from Michigan. I'm still a new student at the Recording Institute of Detroit (1 year so far), so I'm not a pro, but I think i've noticed a few minor things that may help fix your mix. Instead of changing the "LEVELS" of the drums as everybody keeps on insisting, simply add some moderate amount of reverb, perhaps the "PLATE" sound. Or Small Room reverb preset that more Plugin FX programs have. It will make the drums seem quieter by placing their image further behind the mix ( sound being where there drums are supposed to be in the first place.. the back seat driver.. LOL.. j/k)

Vocals sound good, the mix of the harmonies is excellent. Vocals too, could be a little louder w/ a TAD ....TAD more reverb so they won't be obnoxiously loud.

It sounds as if you have played w/ the click (metronome) before, but the drummer is definitely getting too far ahead of the click track's tempo in a couple instances in the song. Maybe keeping the beat a little Less "Busy"..I like the Mike Portnoy Type sound w/ the Max Stack cymbals/ or China and whatnot, but keeping the beat a little less busy, but still cracking the snare on the "An of 2" and "4" will still give the song it's DriVe.

Hope I've helped Somewhat.

Randy

yeah the hats kinda lag at some points in the song

the mix sounds pretty good though. the drums sound pretty good, but might be a tad loud. the guitars are kinda fuzzy in the chorus.

good job overall

Good song.

The guitars need to be brought up more in the mix, and I can hardly hear any bass (could be my headphones).
