If you want a fast neck, I would recommend the Ibanez RG series. The neck on mine is skinnier than a super model.

I had an early 80's Ibanez Artist(very much like a Les Paul)I bought for $100.00(great deal)and sold for $150.00(kick myself)that had about the fastest neck I've ever had.I consider myself somewhat of a shredder,but for some reason,I actually prefer the strat style over the Gibson style.I like a little resistance,I guess.Still,that Ibanez was sweet!

id say ibanez has the slimmest fastest necks, but stevie ray sure had no speed limits with his bulky fender

I wouldn't think it would make it any faster cuz the back of the neck is the same, the only difference is when your fingers press the strings they dont hit the fingerboard..
I wouldn't mind trying one though... I'll bet it feels strange....

That's because they set the action extremely low before their guitars hit the stores. Almost any decent guitar is easier to play if the neck is straight, the frets are perfect and the action is set really low. Most manufacturers don't set up their guitars like this because it's pretty much understood (...or at least supposed to be) that the person who buys the guitar will have it adjusted to their own personal preferences.
That being said, you should try out a Samick Ultramatic UM-4, fonts. It plays exactly like a PRS right from the factory... with it's action set nice and low. Sound-wise, it's 95% as good, and it costs less than a third of the price of an over-priced PRS. Looks-wise, most people have to take a hard look at the headstock to tell it apart from a PRS.
Just try one.
Your jaw will hit the floor when you play this guitar.... I guarantee it.

Beezelbubba nailed it on the head as far as I'm concerned, regarding the Ibanez Artist. I purchased one in 1975 and still have it and love it. A very thin neck with 24 frets and a double cut away body has this guitar beggin to be fast fingered more than a college cheerleader. Have owned a number of fine axes since and all play a little different. My 85 Dean V has a fast neck also. My main axe today is my strat but hope to get a wolfgang by years end. I love the way they feel. In regards to Les Pauls, I like the way they sound but they have never really felt like a fast guitar to me and cumbersome down at the 18th to 22nd frets. But to each his own.

100% myth. There is no such thing as a "fast neck". It's a complete myth. Any guitar is just as good for faster playing.
All frets are identical widths on all guitars - and neck size doesn't matter because no one wraps their hand around the neck when playing lead.
Crap! frets come in a variety of sizes from .056" wide thru to .115" wide plus the height varies as much.
All string lengths are not the same you can make it whatever you like, and a shorter string will have a shorter distance from nut to 1st fret otherwise we would have mandolins with the same fret spacing as guitars and last time I played a mandolin it wasn't.

warning subjective opinion based on experience - i think ibanez thin necks will probably be the fastest for most players. plus they sound amazing for shredding music. i've had a black ibanez js-100 for a few years. super fast and great sound. if anyone wants it give me a pm with a price. i just don't shred that much anymore.
