I have GT2 and don't know how to get it to accept my usb port. I'm using a MidiMan 2x2 interface thru the usb, but my problem is that in GT I don't know how to get it to give me the usb port as an option on recording....only see line inputs.

Also, my computer has a RipTide sound card (came with the computer)....I don't know a lot about soundcards and wonder if this needs to be changed out to get the best results.

thanks for any input.

Welcome to the board, stico... :)

Well, I don't use GT, nor any USB audio devices, so not pretty sure about it. I think most Cakewalk's new product support USB devices. What's your OS ? I heard some people has to install SP1 on WinXP to get better USB performance. And make sure you install propher driver of your MidiMan due to OS version...

You were right, although do-able, most of all those "Mobo included" soundcard is not recomended for better recording result.

Here's ones of those recomended homerecer's sound card...

Hope it helps

Well, I don't think you'll be able to use the Midiman 2x2 USB device with GT2, since GT2 won't let you record MIDI and the 2x2 USB-device is a midi-only interface (I know, I have the exact same one).

That's why GT2 won't recognize the USB-device. Not because GT2 can't see USB-devices, but because GT2 only can see audio-devices (line in/out, either USB or PCI, firewire or whatever. As long as it's dealing with audio and not Midi).

Hope this makes it clearer... :)
