I would if it were my amp. But my guitarist, uninformed and ignorant as he is, refuses to get a tube amp because he thinks he'll have to replace the tubes all the time. I told him its not worth selling the vetta if hes just gonna get another solid state amp...but he doesnt believe me....

Then put the guitarist on Craigslist and get on with your life!

I'd say you have solid grounds to fire the guy for being a morno.

Don't tell us he owns the PA too.

Actually, that doesnt sound so bad. He cancels practice all the time, shows up late when he does show at all, leaves early, never practices. When we record I usually end up doing the guitar parts anyways. He lives like 5 houses down from me but can only manage to get together like once every three weeks...But, I cant jam with myself. Im just starting to look for a new band, putting up flyers, going to shows, etc...

That little plate doesn't mean it is a 500 watt amp, it is just speaking to power requirements not, output power. Anyways, if your buddies amp isn't loud enough have the venue mic it, and boost it out the P.A. I have gotten away with gigging with a 70 watt amp, this way.

its not that its not loud enough, its plenty loud, its just how it sounds like ass when its cranked.

Same story here - the digital stuff sounds decent at low volume but sounds like shit turned up in a live situation. Get a tube amp.
