hello to everyone here.
i'm from greece and i own a home recording studio.i finished recording drum and some bass tracks and i want to record my electric guitar.i own a fender strat american with floyd rose and use : marshall 2x12 cabinet (1922) - rocktron power amp 2x50w - engl 530 preamp (also have a traynor 40w tube and combine them with boss line selector{sometimes not always}).
while i recorded some riffs i noticed that the guitar sound is far away from the sound i here while i play.i recorded with a shure sm57.
I also have a rode nt1a ,ntk (i haven't used them yet).
Recorded in cubase 5 with presonus firepod and an SPL 2 ch tube preamp.
any suggestions about that issue???

thank you very much.

***by the way i'll try to upload few samples so you can make better suggestions.

... the guitar sound is far away from the sound I hear while I play.

Could you explain further what you mean by that?
Where were the microphones placed to do the recording?
What acoustic treatment do you have in your home studio?

PS. Welcome to the forum. I listen to Γιάννης Πλούταρχος, Θανοσ Πετρελησ, Κώστας Μαρτάκης, Σαρμπέλ, Giorgos Alkeos, Giwrgos Lempesis, Kostas Martakis, Nektarios Sfirakis, ΣΑΚΗΣ ΡΟΥΒΑΣ and more. Greece has some fantastic voices!
