guitar recording for heavy metal riffs

ok our guitarist has a jcm900 and the marchall 1960a cab. whats the best quality to record with his setup??
 
Your question is a little vague as to the details of what you want to accomplish. Are you asking for micing suggestions?
 
get 4 or 5 sennheiser 421s and put them about 10-12 inches away from the cab, and maybe a couple ribbons off in the room.
