anyone see it yet... it seeds players much like a tennis tourney or a march madness basketball deal then they are eliminated based on scores in different categories,it's a good effort but one that i think is flawed ...
first they are eliminated based on chops, tone, versatility, influence, body of work, and finally "the X factor".
on the surface i say that is fine but once you see the breakdown you see the flaws ,you have players going out in the first round for chops but the players they have advancing are virtually unheard of ,at least to me admittedly,i.e. 116 seed Richard Thompson beating 13 seed Eric Clapton or 109 seed Bill Frisell beating 20 seed Buddy guy .These guys may play circles around the higher seeds,it's not until three rounds later that influence or body of work come into play . I know that in sports champions come from the bottom all the time knock off top seeds, but, this is not sports and top seeds usually are there still after the one shot guy fades.
I think the idea they have is a good starting point but it needs to be fine tuned maybe rank them all in each categorie then go from there ...
one thing i can't believe is that Jack white (R.S. 17 all time) or Kurt Cobain are not to be found on the list <---preceeding was a joke ...peace
