I'm connecting my guitar to my iMac via a Focusrite 18i8 audio interface, and recording with Logic Pro X. When the guitar is connected to the interface, I can already hear a dull guitar sound through the speakers when I play. After I open up logic pro to use the virtual amps, I'm still getting the dull sound over the program.

Any ideas how to turn it off?

Since the inteface does not have a 'direct/computer' monitor knob, there must be a software mixer - or you have the monitoring switch on for the track you are recording.

Try muting the analogue input inside the Scarlett/Saffire Mix Control window :)

I was thinking the same thing.

Thanks for the input everyone. I just need to open up the software mixer and dragged the fader all the way down.
