Thanks ;) The time was no big deal, I'll get some use out of these when people come in here to record. It helps when trying to define certain sounds to them.

Did you play a show with them when I was still in the band? I'm the tall, bald bastard.

metalhead, do you have a LD Condenser?

To tell you the truth, I really wasn't digging any of those captures that much. I REALLY think blending a LD with either the 57 or the 609 will yield much better results, ESPECIALLY for metal!

Personally, I favor a AT 4050 and a 57 blend.

Errr....I don't think I would agree with you there......are you talking about a LD as a room...?

I'm loving the combination of one of my Unidyne 545s In close and my AT4060 backed off a few feet. Lots of warmth and low end from the 4060.

Just another lil tid bit, i have been tampering with using the slave out on the back of my Mesa Triple Recto and running it into the mix as well, you have to eq the piss out of it but it adds some high end clearity.

very nice man, thanks for that.
I don't like that e609 though. you could definitely hear the difference between that and the 57. The 57 just sounds more round and full to me. I guess it all depends on the application though.

i'd love to see more posts like this in the future from people with different instruments. Jazz guitar, acoustic guitar, piano, drums, etc. This was just very easy to see, hear and read on one webpage. Props :) (I'd give you rep for that, but it ain't lettin' me)

Nice work, M28. Those clips are closely remniscent of my own experiments with a 609 and a 57. I practically knew what I was going to hear from each clip, after hearing the first one.

try this

i use a danelectro "Black Coffee" distortion pedal and run it into my BBE with the lo contour and the process knobs up 100%. then i go into my marshal MS-2 micro amp(loaded with a fresh 9v battery of course). i duck tape the mouth end of my downstairs phone to the MS-2 speaker(nice and tight). i duck tape the left side of a pair of headphones that came with a 1983 walkman(it acts as an excellent dynamic microphone) to the reciever of my upstairs phone and run it through the other channel of my BBE(long cords!) - again turning the knobs up 100%. i then go BBE out to a 32 band EQ where i turn up all the frequencies 100%(this adds some sweet gain). the tone is ass biting and sensuous. only a guitarist who is serious about his/her recording tone will bother with such but i assure you it is worth it.
