I have a Pod XT and the associated Line6 Edit software that I've been happily and flawlessly using for many (10) years. Well the power switch on the hardware Pod failed so I started looking at all the other software I've installed over the years that I could use for guitar tone.
These include Guitar Rig, Riffworks, Gearbox, PODfarm, and Waves GTR. None of these however seem to want to work as a straight in tone source. In other words I like to hear the tone as I'm playing and record that. With the Pod XT I was taking it analog from the Pod then through the board and into my sound card. (E-Mu 1212) All the others are pure software and do not want to operate stand alone with a DAW as they seem to want to do battle over drivers and such. I use multiple DAW's (Sonar, Cuebase, Reason) so would prefer not to be treating the guitar tone source as a VST plugin from within the DAW, which reason doesn't support anyway. Any advice on how to get this to work or am I asking for something that's not do-able?? Thanks to all and any!
