yes i am in the uk ,that would be great if you could do that for me.

i understand now the reason why :) , my thoughts were you have bell wire supplied with every stereo you get so there can not be that much current going down the wire ,but obvously marshall amps are a whole different kettle of fish.

That thin wire you get with stereos is not shielded. It's also crap and should be replaced.
 
Just an addtion to the good advice you've already received. You could use your snake IF you were connecting your guitar to a DI box then to a mic input on the snake with the accompanying reverse of all that at the amp end in the cellar. I believe that's what the Radial SGI let's you do (also the Little Labs STD).
