Probably a solid state one. The reason I brought this other thing up: my first amp was a 15 watt Fender, and it suited me fine for about a year to a year and a half. After that, it started distorting the sound when I played the low strings clean. I couldn't turn it past about 2.5 (in volume) without hearing this distortion. I heard most (lower range) Crate amps do this also, so I'm trying to find out more about some quality amps! Thanks!
