Fender
B-52
Mesa

In that order... for cleans...

B-52 AT series
Mesa tripple rectifier
Fender (any high priced tube ones... not digital crap)

In that order for distortion... ;)

PS: never care about marshall amps, I believe they rock, but I´ve never felt like owning a Marshall... too popular

im currently using a Roland Cube-60 . Its a great amp with a lot of differnet sounds, VOx,Boogie,Marshall,Fender. And a great clean channel. Its also got inbuilt effects for people who cant afford pedals. Great amp!

Just picked up a little Trace Elliot 30 watt acoustic amp, probably from the late '70s - early '80s. Clean as new glass.... .

Everyone who is interested in boutique quality for mass-market prices ought to check out the Giller amps. He sells them through ebay and will accept custom orders if you mail him. A handwired custom-specs 40 watt 112 will set you back 700 dollars or so shipped. Granted, the graphics are sorta homebrewish, but who cares when it sounds so good?

Frenzel Amplifiers also is a great boutique bang for the buck.

Finally, I have an old Mesa ripoff by Acoustic that has cleans Mesas can only dream of that I'm liking a lot right now...

I have been using this Laney 100Watt AOR Series Head and Celestion loaded Quad Box for 20 years now and it is still packing a punch!....Clean sound or Dirty! :)

I'm really enjoying my practice amp these days - no it's not the god of all amps, but for what it does, it does it nicely. The Vox VT30.

tell me what you guys think of the new super-sonic by fender. i really want one but new tube stuff is always scary to buy...but damn they sound bad ass, and they do a lot

but yes the fender twin is the best amp ever created...bogner, mesa, and orange i wish i had the money

LOL :D

I was also curious about that one. I've never played a great Crate. Then again, there may be decent ones out there.

I use a Crate GXT 100 watt, 4/10 amp.......it rocks!!! Had all the rest and......who am I kidding, I can't afford a Boogie! :D

"I just bought a new XXXXXXX, and I'm absolutely giddy!"

Maybe 10 years ago I bought one of those 20 watt tweed amps. Before that, I hadn't bought an amp since 1981. I've been using the same 212 50-watt combo since then. 25 years service. I just bought an amp today, and now I see why everyone always posts to the musician boards "I just bought a new XXXXXXX, and I'm absolutely giddy!"

I'm not even gonna tell you what it is, because you guys will all think it's gay. I know in my hands it'll be the voice of God. I should buy stuff more often.

SG Reigns

Ever heard of an SG. By Gibson.. - It is a 80's -tube 6L6s' -(twin-like)

SG SG SG - sing it with me.... SG SG SG I wish I had an SG SG.... :)

Over the years I have owned and played my guitars thru a 10w Gibson? (circa '58), Gregory Mark X, Fender Bassman, Traynor Stack, Supro, Kustom 200, Gibson, assoterd Peavey amps (Standard, Musician's, Bandits, Specials, Duce).

Of all of these amps the Traynor sounded the best, therefore in about 2 weeks I will purchase a 40W traynor combo ... best sounding and best built tube amp in that price range if you like the 6L6 sound. I was amazed at how versitile this amp is.
>>> more to follow.

Duh .... I forgot my Ampeg

I just added one to the collection. The wife went garage sale hunting as she always does and brought me home a 1962 Silvertone 1448 guitar amp built into the guitar case (for $5.00). Too bad it didn't have the Danelectro that would have went in it. The amp is 3 watts into a 6" speaker. My Fenders (single coil pick ups) sound OK but won't let it break up like my Gibsons (humbuckers) will. It's actually a very cool little amp and a great addition to the arsenal.

my favorite all around amps are fender silver and black face amps. I had vintage JMI vox amps and though very impressive to look at are very rickety. I had them all serviced by the best techs with NOS mullard/brimar tubes but they didn't do anything a fender of similar vintage did better. I've played through some PCB marshalls. I always wanted to play through a 1974 or older one but still waiting on that.

of current production I would like to try one of the new chinese made single speaker vox ac30 amps. Supposed to be a good sounding amp stock

After screwing around with a 5w EPI Valve Junior for the past few weeks I bought one ... it sounds great! I liked it so much that I also bought a 15w EPI standard at the same time and it sounds great. I will also own a new Traynor in a few weeks, then all of the old PEavey shit is getting sold or tossed.

Kind of wish I had some of the amps back that I used in the '60's but these EPI's are great. I just hope that they hold together because they don't cost a lot. With a 5yr warranty what the hell do I care?

i perfer rack systems over combo amps. i use a Digitech 2120 Pre amp into a Marshall EL34 50/50 monobloc power amp. you wouldn't believe the sound i can get out it. it's so versitile too, i can go from a heavy metal sound to a sweet tube sound.

I definitely agree with henry mars post. I've had probably a dozen champs/vibro champs. When I saw what they are going for now I just thought that was crazy. I paid $99 shipped for the valve junior. No mods. Sounds great. I've thought about getting the standard. I had a marshall tube practice amp back in the late 80s I paid $250 that sounds exactly like the the little valve junior. For the money you can't beat the valve junior I just wish that EPI would take care of the power filament problem in them so they are as quiet as the heads

Behringer

I've had a lot of funwith any Behringer amp I've owned or played. I play a broad cross-section of music, so versatility is the key for me.
