I'm trying to group all of my midi drums together and am running into a little problem with this. The shortcut which was command + g seemed to work but I couldn't see how to actually select the tracks I wanted to group. I went in through the menu and had the same thing. I thought that if you just clicked on the track name it would accomplish this. After trying a few more things, I checked my group menu and I had about 5 groups but every single track was grouped together so didn't really help me. What am I doing wrong?

That depends entirely on what program you're using. Tell us that and it might help.

Yep sorry, thought I had sig on this site. Running pro tools le 6.7

Go to the Mix Window (easiest for me to group at). Click on the name of the first track you want to group. Hold shift, then click on the last. The hit command + g.

It helps to arrange your tracks in some sort of order first (like all the drums in order, guitars, vocals, and so on).
