Thank God this is a first class place and pictures like that take a back seat to random modding schematics and basement pics of dimly lit home studios with glowing racks of gear.
From what I've seen and read this forum is a world first class operation!
Glad I seem to slightly fit in!

:p

I have three ACM-3, two ACM-1200, some other mics and a bunch of preamps on order. I have not been billed for shipping yet, so since it's football season, I sort of feel like the SF 49ers...they get in the RED zone, but are unable to score the goods. Anyways, I'm thinking of ordering three ACM3 and two T14-1200 transformers for starters, since they don't require any electronics mods. I also plan to order one or two each of the T14-C12, T47, T49, and T67, depending on the price of the electronics mods for each tranny. That way I could mix/match the ACM-1200 flavors. I may have to devise some sort of quick connect/disconnect setup for the capsules if I go this route.

I'm just waiting to see if they post pricing/availability for the Lucas electronics mods.

Also wondering if there will be transformers and mods for other mics like the ACM-4, ACM-6802, or ACM-900.

Like everyone else in this GB, I wish I bought a bunch more of the ACM-1200.

Maybe the next time...if there is another GB.

Props to Chance for putting this all together.

Yeah, I also bought some 6802T's. Are there going to be electronics / tranny upgrades for those? I sent an email to the posted address, but haven't received a confirmation yet. Thanks in advance for any info! :)

This gb is turnig to really interesting directions with these "aftermarket"
options!

Exelent!

i think he already mentioned that there are going to be transformer upgrades available.

Did I miss anything? While I did see some posts about future transformer upgrades, I didn't see a link or directions to sign up for anything. I just don't want to miss out on the transformer upgrades.

Just wondering if anyone has gotten a response on a transformer order. I emailed them yesterday to find out whether or not they had any units ready to ship or if they were still in production and haven't heard anything. Anyone else have any luck?

I don´t no why but i´m starting to hate RED colors...
Just in case:
i´m ready to pay.

Yep, more RED "No's" here too.

Chance................From what you've said, I'm presuming the shipping for o/seas orders is much more problematic than "domestic" (US) orders............care to elaborate, for the benefit of us "non-US" guys?

OK with domestic Fed Ex, I recieve the name, dimensions, and weight from the shipper. I then print out the label, get the shipping costs and bill you. If you remit the payment 6 months from now, that label is still good because I don't get charged until it ships. In other words as soon as payment is received, it ships.

With USPS, I must calculate the rate, bill you and can't do anything until payment is received. Once payment is received, I have to fill out a whole lot of forms including customs. I then must specify the exact ship date (there is no window) then I must pay. In other words If I process the order and can't make the ship date, I must file for a refund, and start all over again. Something that happened not too long ago: I calculated the shipping cost, invoiced it, received payment, filled in the dimensions and weight, and everything went through fine. 6 days later it was returned. Reason? Oversize!! With Fed ex if something is not right, it won't let you print the label. With this USPS, they did not reject my information and allowed me to print the documents. I then had to re-package the order into 2 boxes instead of 1 and the shipping cost was now higher and I still haven't received my refund. So I payed the extra cost rather than do another invoice to the person who was patiently waiting for his gear. With Domestic/Fed Ex I can have 100 boxes packed, labeled and ready to ship BEFORE I even invoice anyone for their shipping payment. I receive payment, and they immediadely ship. Get the picture?

Problem with ACMP 73s?

Hey all!
I got my (4) ACMP 73s and my (2) ACM 310s yesterday and started unpacking them and putting some through their paces.
The 310s are burning in right now and I unpacked 2 of the ACMP 73s an tried them out on my drum kit.
They sound really nice! Currently I have been using a combo of 4 channels of RNP and 4 channels of DMP-3. The kit sounds great, there is plenty of headroom and when the unit is pushed hard with the snare it makes it snappy and aggressive...Just what I was looking for.

There was just one observation that bugged me.
On both units when you started adjusting the input gain, right at the halfway point as you turn between 2 notches the overload light comes on and the unit puts out a loud surge or pop. It does it at the exact same place on both units. I turned down the gain and worked the knobs back and forth thinking maybe it would stop, but after 20 times they still do it.

Obviously if I remember to turn down the output gain when I switch levels I will be OK. I just wondered if any one else had that problem?

I am pretty sure the "output" knob is not "gain". It is "trim". The gain comes from the stepped "input" knob.

Meaning, leave "output" on max (Unity) unless you want to push the output transformer harder.

[edit]Sorry, I see that you were talking about the knob making a pop while switching.
