Chance,

I'm interested in the ACM200 Dual ribbon, Phantom powered mics.............have you used a prototype for them and what are your impressions.

Yes! I have one here and I love it.

Chance you say you love it, how do you feel about the ACM300 in comparison. I've gone back and forth with those 2. I'm concerned about the ribbon sag problem in the ACM200 though. I want to use it for vocals only.

ANY INPUT????

THanks again for everything!

Earl

Hey chance, Would it be possible to split my shipment in two lots, shipped a few weeks apart? I'm holding back ordering more, because if I go over 1,000 aussie dollars I pay import duties. I don't mind if you want to add an amount to my order for added labor on your part. If its too much hassle i'll just bite bullet and pay the duties.

anyone noticed this?
Not to say other than that he is the same basic mic casing
for his version

Matti

I think they are different. The ACM 300 uses phantom power. I don't see that with the other mic. I may have missed it though. That's why I can't decide between the ACM300 and the ACM200. Both use phantom power, but one comes with only a leather bag and the other with all accessories. What to do, what to do!:D

Phantom power should help the gain issue with other ribbons. At least that's what I understand.

Completely different mics except the case and possibly the ribbon motor assembly. You're not getting a hand-tuned ribbon or a Lundahl transformer at group buy prices... unless you're just buying the transformer or the ribbon tuning, of course. :D

Hi,

Could anyone give me a shipping cost reference in asia pacific area? e.g how much to ship a tube mic with box to japan/singapore/AU? I am located in HongKong and want to join the group buy, shipping the made-in-china mic from US to HK sounds stupid but I can't find any retail source in China...

Thanks for the hard work Chance.

Maybe you could go to the factory and pick it up? Probably a logical reason why this can't happen though.

Yes! I have one here and I love it.

Quick question, Chance...

Of the ACM-2 / ACM-3, or the ACM-200, ACM-300 or ACM-900, which do you prefer overall? I'm looking for electric guitar cab duty as a primary use, and also strings (violin/cello) and possibly horns.

Thanks for the info!

Jon M

do you have a clou how many europeans have joined the GB?

i'd be very interested in the preamps but shipping and two times taxes would raise the cost too much probably.

cheers,
flo

Here's a question for Chance. As the mics and pres are coming from two different manufacturers, they will more than likely arrive in the US at different times. Will you be shipping them out separately or wait until everything arrives and ship once? Thanks.

The ACM-4 is killer on horns. I prefer it over the ACM-2 or ACM-3. It's my new go to mic on Tenor Sax and Trumpet. I still prefer the AKG414 for bone, but w/ the right player it works well for that too.

They will ship to you all together

Maybe you need to make 2 seperate orders

Hi Chance,

Could you quote an example of the shipping cost to Austrilia in the last GB so that I won't have a big surprise when getting the shipping invoice?

Thanks
