Was a color ever concluded for the preamps?

Also, is there confirmation of whether or not the 73 will be less $25 if it goes over 200 units even if the other pres don't reach 100 units?

still waiting for them to return from Germany on the 25th for all this info

It may have been asked...

Are the PSUs for the ACM-310 and others voltage switchable? As in, will I be able to use them in Australia? (230v)

So if you guys had a choice between the 1200 and the 6802, what would you pick? I can't have both, I'm way too broke!

I was in the same dilemma and decided to go with the 1200 for no better reason than I think they look cooler.:) I don't have any tube mics so I have nothing to compare them to and nobody will really have a chance to hear them til this group buy is complete, but I am sure I would be happy with either one.

That was pretty much my reason too but then people started throwing talk about the AK47 around and that sealed it for me. As a matter of fact, I'm gonna get two and put a couple of different tubes in them. This is gonna be fun! :D

I have a tube mic that I like very much, a Rode K2, that I have a NOS Telefunken tube in... I'm at a dilema of whether I want/need another tube mic...

Here's what I have in my collection thus far, maybe someone can point me to which mic in the group buy that would "add to" what I already have:

1 - Neumann TLM103
1 - Rode K2 (Telefunken Tube)
1 - Nady RSM-2 Ribbon Mic
1 - ACM-3, given to me because of sagging ribbon...which I've since fixed.
1 - Red5 Audio RVD1 Kick Drum mic
2 - HRM-10, Ribbon Mics from original group buy
2 - Oktava MK-012
4 - Red5 Audio RVD9 Dynamic Snare / Tom Mics
4 - Rode NT5's (2 matched pairs)
8 - Shure SM57
8 - Shure SM58

I have been FLOODED with E-mail/PM's about the ACM-4. dual ribbon mic. Perhaps I'll reconsider.
There have been more inquiry's than actual signups for this mic

I didn't take it off the site yet... It's still there... Currently, it has 18, which isn't last place, but rather 4th place...

The lowest numbers are:

5 - ACM-1
12 - ACM-70
16 - ACM-100
18 - ACM-4

While I continue to be blown away by Randy's skill, talent, and generousity, I got some updated information on the newer mics. I'll send via mass-mail in the next few days (still buried in work)

Wow. What a tease.

Randy,

Do you know what email address this will come from? It might be nice to know ahead so our spam can be set accordingly. Sometimes I'm in a hurry and just delete what's in spam, I know I'm not alone.:D

Oh, did you see the comment I made about adding shipping address and info to the User Detail section? Just checking. So much goes on.

Thanks again,

Earl

Hi Earl,

Randy,

I'm pretty sure that Chance said he was going to use the ADMIN portion of the Group Buy System... I kinda hope he does, since we've never actually tested a mass type email like this from the system before... Yeah, I've sent up to 5 to the various address' that I have as a test, but I'd still like to use it in production to make sure all is well... I really don't think there'll be any issues, but you never know until you actually use it...
If Chance does decide to use the system to send out this next email, I have aliased it to where it appears that it is coming from him, just like all the other mass emails before: musicians.workshop@gte.net. SO, there shouldn't be any "new settings" of any spam filters that anyone has setup... If you were getting the previous emails from Chance, and you have registered in the system, you will receive these emails as well...

Oh, did you see the comment I made about adding shipping address and info to the User Detail section? Just checking. So much goes on.

Yes, I saw that, and I had spoken to Chance about that when I first built the system, if wanted for me to include shipping info as well... He didn't feel that it was neccesary since the checkout process will be handled via PayPal and you have to put your shipping address in there...

The way I have it in my head that it will work, is:
You'll view your PRODUCT INVOICE via the User Console. It will show you a total price, LESS the cost of shipping. You will then proceed to checkout via PayPal as usual, which will send a notice of payment to Chance with your shipping info included. Chance will then log into the ADMIN section and mark your PRODUCT INVOICE as PAID. He will then box up your items and calculate shipping costs. He will then log back into the ADMIN section and enter your shipping costs, which will appear on the home page when you log into the User Console. At the same time when Chance inputs your shipping costs, this will cause the SHIPPING INVOICE button within the User Console to become active. By clicking it, you will be taken to another invoice that deals with shipping costs only...works and looks just like the PRODUCT INVOICE, but only checks out shipping costs. When payment is made to cover the shipping costs and Chance receives the confirmation email from PayPal, he will then log back into the ADMIN section, mark your shipping as PAID, and enter any other info that he has at that time, such as shipping date, tracking number and delivery carrier. I have also included a space for him to add "notes" about shipping specific to each person... SO, he may enter a special note in that area that will also appear with the User Console for you to view...

If anyone forsees a problem with the flow of this, please let me know and we'll work to correct it...

Thanks!

This looks great - basically the way it worked before, but hopefully with a lot less headache for Chance.

One process (not really software) question -- I know I specify my shipping address up front with the initial payment. Later, if things change for me (like I move or something), and now my shipping address is different in the second (shipping) invoice payment, that'll be handled appropriately? Just wondering about the possibility that the older (and now invalid) shipping address from the first invoice would cause some confusion -- Chance would have presumably calculated the shipping cost based on that older one.

Yes, hopefully, it will cause a lot less pain for Chance to manage all of the information he has to deal with running a group buy like this... In least of terms, if the system done nothing else besides collect data, it will still provide a central depository for all of the data...which in itself seems to clear up confusion down the road as the GB progresses...

I'm sure that this couldn't be handled with software, and hopefully we won't have very many cases such as this... but I'm sure if we do, Chance will work with them on a case-by-case basis to make it all work out...

Thanks for everyone's input on this! Keep em' coming!
