My rep from China just sent me an E-mail and said "the specs for the 81 & 84 are finished and the engineering dept. will send on Monday"
On another note, anyone know the size of the CK-12 capsule? For the last 5 years I have been working on a 414 type of mic. I am looking for a cheap capsule to use just so I can finish the electronics end of it.

Original brass or Teflon? :p ;)

As long as you sent me an E-mail (not a PM), and put "TnC GEAR" in the subject header, I should have gotten it. A lot of people have joined us in the last couple of days. Perhaps "GS"? I haven't checked but I read somewhere that they (GS) locked the thread. Is that true?? I know that in the past there have been Group buys at GS.

I guess this was my error, I think I said preamp group buy or something like it.
OK I have sent another with the proper heading.
Hopefully I am on board now!
Tom

Any news on mics for sale from last GB? I might be interested in one of the ribbons. I'll use it mainly for voice.

Chance, will there be more mics in the next GB with the pres?

Thanks!

I haven't taken count of what I still have. I know I do have some ACM-1's, 3's. and 583's I just don't know exactly how many yet.

I just updated my site a little with pics of some of the new mics. I only posted the ones that I have tried and found them to be very good

I don't know if I ever made this known, but the last project I did, Two or more "Doxology" was all ACM mics. The link to them is on my site (friends) Unfortunately the links that they posted to "Doxology" was NOT the mix that was on the CD. I think you can hear all the songs on the Doxology project. I only listened to "I waited". I have to ask them why that mix sounds so bad.

I didnt get in on any of the past group buys....if you still have some ACM-3's...I might be interrested in 1...maybe 2...

Thanks for the info Chance. I'm excited about the updated pics of the mics. The ACM-6802T looks great! I'll keep my eyes open for updates on the new order.

Let us know if you have anything you want to sell. Otherwise, I'll just be sure to get in on the next buy.

That bottle mic with the power supply excites me very much. I can't wait to start the waiting process for these new mics!

Also, any word on compressors? I remember that idea was kicked around before.

The comps and EQ's are on hold for a while. (not enough hours in the day LOL)

I've gotton some E-mails regarding prices. This is one of the reasons for the "mass E-mail". Since the quality control has been improved, and the tests with the new gear, it has been suggested by several hi-profile recording engineers/producers that this gear is way under priced and is why the other brand names object and is more than likly why Gear Slutz put the lock on the thread. Later this year I will be advertising and setting up distributors. The purpose of the mass E-mail is that forum members will get this gear at cost. If I were to disclose the cost publicly, it would be unfair and in bad taste to you and to future distributors so you can make a profit.
Someone has suggested a private forum. I believe he has already set it up. Unfortunately, I don't have the time to visit or moderate another forum. At present I am active here and PSW only. I welcome any and all discussion here wheather it be good or bad. With knowing the bad, it only helps to improve the quality of future GB's

The brass one. I already have the saddle that supports it.

Chance,

If we are talkling of the same capsule (one that Peluso has listed as CEK12)then it is 34mm.
Please be advised, the original (both, teflon and brass ring) AKG CK12 had a multichambered backplate structure. The CEK12 has a regular dual K67 style backplates and has NOTHING TO DO with AKG style. It is a false advertisement and many times was called on that.

More info on the real AKG style from Stephen Paul:

Best, M

Very interesting. Actually I am looking for any capsule that will fit this saddle. The capsule I am looking for (cheap) needs the same wiring config as the old 414 with the brass CK-12. I am experimenting LOL

Chance, I'm certain I was one of the folks who missed getting your mass email...my email was down for the past 3 days.

Hardly ever happens, until you need it...all is well now, though.

I don't think you should sweat it yet...

It was only a test. Nothing important was said.

Or was it?... ;)
