Yeah, that's 2,621.3 pounds!
I have no clue what 5.36 CMB is.

Good news (finally)
Last night I recieved news that our mics are ready to ship. I'm not sure what this means, but our package is 1189.00 kgs and 5.36 CMB. I probably can't contact my shipper today, or over the weekend, but I'll try.

Yeah, 1,189kg converts to 2,622 US lbs.

I’m not sure what the other figure is, maybe Cubic Meters something, something. If so that converts to around 189 Cubic Feet, or almost an area that is 6’ x 6’ and 5' high.

So if each mic case consumes a volume of… Oh never mind, we’re getting far too technical now. (So I had some time to kill!)

i don't think the package can weight 1 tons + that's too much. I was born in asia and i'm familiar with the metric system, 1 ton is ALOT for anything, maybe there's huge stuffing in the package, but dang, 1 ton is like a car or a truck.

1189.00000 Kilograms = 2621.29630 Pounds
Maybe we shoulda got the small diaphragm

1000+ mics at average 2# per mic (including packaging) is about right. Some mics will weigh less, some (tubes with PS) more.

are you guys really getting 1000+ mic? that seems to be alot more than i thought it would be.

Chance not only took orders from here, but one or two other forums as well. Plus many people are buying "extras" to put up on ebay. 1000 mics seems a reasonable guess. Only he knows for sure.

Update
I will recieve the bill of laden on Monday. I was told (and I find it hard to believe) by the manufacturer that it takes 14 days from Shanghai to LA.
Ships leave every Monday, Thursday, and Saturday. Maybe they have a "Jet powered" ship. The last GB shippment was from Beigine and it took a month. Could the shipping origin make that much difference?

It's 6500 miles. Divide that by 14 is 464 miles/day is 19.3 mph is about 17 knots. A typical container ship, per Wikipedia, has a speed of 28 knots, so 14 days is a more than reasonable estimate. I don't know why the other took so long - an old ship?

I tried to do a FedEx shipping estimate from Shanghai to LA, but It didn't seem to work.

Thanks for this great news!

Not to be a geek, but the term is 'bill of lading'. Basically a confirmation that it is on its way.

I would say a month is still a good guess. 14 days may be the actual time on the ocean, but there are probably land based delays of at least several days. Also we have the delay of domestic shipping here of course so we probably have a good 4-6 weeks before we have them in our hands.

Almost there
I just recieved the invoice for final payment and overseas shipping, and I transfered the funds. They should ship on Monday (from China)

I just got word that our mics are at the port of Shanghai and will leave on Monday. They told me 14 days. I find that hard to believe (having done this a few times), but we'll see. Bottom line is our mics will be in the water on Monday

Glad this is almost done. NOW can you give us some info about the mic pres and compressors. Just a little preview. Some info. Please, please, please. (OK my kids have home from school too long. I'm beginning to sound like them)

Good news about shipping on Monday. If this 14 day information came from the shipper it's probably accurate.

However, by transferring the funds do you in effect pay the invoice? I don't think it makes sense to pay the invoice before the mics arrive. Very risky.

I do appreciate the effort and believe you are accomplishing your goal of lower prices on these mics as evidenced by name brand price drops.
