I hope the mics do not come this weekend. I am going out of town for several days and I would hate to have a box full of mics sitting on my front stoop that whole time. What's worse is, I am new in this town and the only neighbor I know is making the trip with me.

No mics, please! :D

Seeing as the mics were supposed to be put on a boat from China two days ago, I think it is safe to assume they won't hit your doorstep by this weekend.

if your trip happens to be going to the bottom of the Pacific Ocean, then could you please pick up my mic order too while you're down there. ;)

It'll take at least a few days after they get into port just to get through customs, etc. That's not counting however many days it takes Chance to sort them all, box them up, and ship them. And they're not even into port yet, AFAIK.

I figure October. :D

Yours was the one that fell off? :D

I got an E-mail last night stating that I should receive the "docs" for customs on Monday. I checked for shipping from the port of LA to here in Ontario (about 30 miles) and it would be around $700.00. I'll rent a U-haul thank you. There are 69 cartons weighing a total of 1189 Kgs. Total volume of the 69 cartons is 5.36 cmb. I have no idea what cmb is. I have no idea what size truck to get. Anyone know what 5.36m is ?

You might want to verify how you will load these in your truck. They might have come on pallets, which would either require a forklift or for you to take every carton off each pallet. At a minimum you might want to bring a tool to remove metal banding if necessary. Sounds like the cartons aren't too big, by my quick estimation they are 2.74 cubic feet and 38# each assuming they are all the same size. So they could be 1'x1'x2.74' for example. (wouldn't hurt for someone to verify my math)

Good luck, sounds like we're close!

5.35 cbm

I agree that cmb should probably be cbm.

5.36 cubic meters = about 7 cubic yards = 189 cubic feet
which would make each carton about 2.74 cubic feet.

That's a lot of mics.

You should be able to fit that twice into the smallest ten foot truck. Bear in mind, though, that this means the ten foot deep, 6.5 foot wide truck will be filled across its entire area up to about three feet in height. You're going to want to bring along a couple of friends. Free pizza helps. :D

you'll also want to make sure that you aren't over the weight limit for the size of truck that you get.
