unfortunately i work in the administration dept where i work as a compliance officer so i can't receive personal packages at work. :(
 
I personally don't care how things are shipped from here. There will be a big savings with FedX. On the last group buy, I used USPS and it was kind of expensive but was very reliable, fast, and was packed very well. They charge for the boxes, and charge for packaging. Perhaps someone could start a poll, and I will use the most requested form of shipping. Also don't forget there is a Pay Pal charge which I already fronted. The mics have been ordered and I am waiting for the invoice that I need to make the bank transfer to China.
 
i'm sure from what you're saying, fedex will be by far the cheapest and will be totally great for almost everybody and i was never suggesting that you ship by a different carrier for the group. i was wondering if there's any way mine could get set aside and i would pay a higher rate for shipping by a different carrier and for your trouble. if that's not possible, i'll see if i can get my mics held at a local fedex office and otherwise hope for the best. thanks again chance.

Did the company provide you with a delivery quotation? I assume we're talking 2 months here since they're probably coming by boat, but maybe you can give us a rough guess. I suspect there are those that think they're getting these things tomorrow.

I can't get a quote until I have the size and weight of each package. Some are only getting one mic, and some are getting a large quantity.


For some reason on the last GB, it took a month just to get the funds transfered. Those mics were from a trader (Alctron) Our mics are coming directly from the manufacturer and they assure me that it will be much quicker. Overseas transport is 28 days
 
Do whatever is easiest for you Chance, I think you've jumped through enough hoops. Don't put any more effort into this thang....

Crap, sorry Chance, I totally blew the wording of my previous message. I meant a quote from the Chinese company on how long it would take to manufacture and deliver them to the US. Thanks for the polite response in spite of this.

My wild ass guess is that we will have them in hand in about 10-12 weeks.
 
I am in favor of whatever is cheapest for shipping. So, the NAMM discount on shipping thru fedX sounds like a great benefit, and the best possible deal out there! :)

:D i had something delivered by fedex today successfully that i won off ebay (seller changed shippers w/o consulting me). i taped signs to the mailbox (on the street) with directions and that seemed to work, so i feel better about it fwiw. :D
 
I was just on the phone with Fed-X and I might be able to save some more $ and a LOT of time as well as Pay Pal charges if I ship "freight collect". In that way, you can pay the shipping when you recieve the goods. That would eliminate the time it would take for me to weigh and get your cost for shipping, then request Pay pal payment, then once I recieve your payment only then, I can ship. Just a thought to get these to you as efficiently and cost effectivly as possible. With a container load of mics, you can see how much time this would save everyone at no additional cost. (actually a little cheaper)
 
Well, it's less convenient for me because someone has to be there to pay, right? Or are there other options to cover the freight collect charge? Isn't freight collect shipping more expensive?

On the other hand, it would make your life a lot easier, so maybe it's worth the trade-off.

You're pretty much in the driver's seat.
 
Just wondering how to pay for it at that point? Cash? Credit card? Mine would be delivered to me at work so it would not be hard to pay if i knew how much and in what way to pay.
