Thanks for all your efforts. Indeed, it appears that it will take until 5/17 for my bank transfer to be complete so a week would be appreciated. I guess I haven't used paypal enough to have the foresight to add funds in advance.

If you care to divulge it, I'm curious about the magnitude of the total order - 100 mics, or 1,000, or 10,000. I understand if it's better to keep this private.

Yes I got the notice from Pay Pal that your "funds are on the way"
The magnitude of the total order? Lets just say that I can't just pick them up with my PU truck, and will have to have them shipped to a wherehouse. It's going to be a nightmare packing, weighing, and labeling and finally shipping. What I am going to do is front all these charges, so when the shipping charges are funded to me, all I will have to do is deliver to the shipper. Again I am waiting to hear from NAMM on the best cost effective shipper

I'm with you, dude. Hopefully some of these mics will still be available for the next GB. I used to check this forum CONSTANTLY, and only recently did I stop for a while, and look what I missed.
 
I am getting so )@#%)(@#)%*& fed up with PayPal right now...

There's no way you to accept an alternate means?

Thanks to some Ebay auctions I had... I ended up with a "new" Paypal account. Complete with the money from the items I sold. Lo and behold... just because you have money in a paypal account, apparently doesn't mean you can actually USE that money. I have to enter bank or CC information... well... There's one CC I use for online stuff with a very low limit...which is of course used for my other paypal account. So after a hour's conversation with PayPal... I'm forced to cancel the other account... loose all my online subscriptions... (not what ya'll are thinking I can find that for free...) and apply the card to the "new" account that already has the money in it I plan on using for the mics... only now THAT account won't work either....

that sucks, man. i'm gonna have to switch my paypal over to a new bank account soon, but i decided, best to wait till after this group buy....
 
I'm on the phone with them again... they're now telling me minimum of 3-4 days to get the account activiated... I'm SO FRIGGIN ticked I can't even explain.

and ARRRRRGHHHH!!!!!

I lost track number of additional people spoke to over there trying to get it pushed through... worthless...

What mics did you want? Maybe I'll take them if you can't get this resolved. Man I want a couple of those ribbons.

I am just curious, but to everyone who already paid, do you see the pay pal charges on your account? I am asking because PP deducted these charges from your payment and If you can't see these charges, I will have to do another step so you can view these charges. I now have to add these charges to your shipping charges. There was no way for me to know in advance what these charges would have been. I want to account, to you, for all monies spent. Like I said before, I will front these charges as well as the shipping charges, then bill you, and when these charges are funded, they will ship.
 
Chance, I ordered $165 in mics and all I see in PayPal is $165 even.

Are you talking about the 3% that PayPal charges the seller (except for the most basic account)? I don't believe the buyer ever sees that charge.

Do you mean the PayPal Fee?

I did not see a fee, nor was it added to my payment.

So yes, later when we pay shipping, we should cover the PayPal fee then.

Will it be an additional PayPal transaction to cover the Fee(s) and shipping? Or can you tack it onto the current bill? Because if it has to be an other PayPal transaction, the PayPal fee will have to be paid twice.
Although I think PayPal charges vary depending on how much money the payment was for.
 
The buyer doesn't see the Paypal charge. Chance, unless you are set up for their merchant rates, the rate is $0.30 + 2.9%. So the formula for funding (whether the original payment, or a second request to cover the Paypal fee) is:

($x + $0.30) / 0.971
 
Wow thanks for those replies. Maybe I should have a merchant account (if that would be cheaper). It looks like there is going to be a lot more GB's. Not just mics, but a lot of other gear. Gear vendors are coming out of the woodwork to sell there wares. (I think I am now on a list LOL) Once this order is completely funded and ordered, I might start another GB for compressors, mic pre's etc. The gear looks pretty good, but I haven't seen the specs yet.

i absolutely agree! Everyone I work with here at the studio are super excited to get their mics and super grateful that you've pulled this all together. when the comps and pres are available, you'll probably get another order from me similar in scale to this one.

You can just pay by credit card - you don't need a paypal account.
