Is anyone going to have some "extra" mics they'll be offering to members that missed out on the buy? I know I was one of the unluckies that missed the deadline for one reason or another!

I doubt it, unless someone gets theirs and simply decides that they don't like them. Just sit tight and hope that someone PMs you with the next group buy opportunity (whenever that may turn out to be). There's been no real discussion of a follow on, and I doubt that there will be until these mics have been distributed and the new owners have had the chance to evaluate them.

After these mics get shipped out, we can discuss doing it again. Remember it takes about 4 months, so if you really need a mic, go to GC. I haven't had time to figure out how much the total cost is. Perhaps when those who are getting them recieve their order, they can add it all up. On the next buy I can't do it alone. My busy season is rapidly coming up, so in a few weeks, I will post who wants to take this on, preferably someone who frequents and is a member of multiple forums. I would like to have an order larger than the last.
Those who got the HRM-15 that was substituted for the (I think) HRM-12
YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED. That mic sells for over $350.00 by another brand

Hey gang
I am all ready to ship and I haven't gotton all the shipping addresses. I have, however gotton a few with names I didn't recognise. I need the shipping name, the forum name, and the name you used with pay pal. (there are a few with 3 different names) All these names have to match before I can ship. I will be taking these and having them boxed up and get the charges and will get back to you with the charges. Hurry, I need the room plus I have a lot of sessions coming up and if I can't ship this week, it will be another week you will have to wait

If this thing happens again, I'd be interested in getting 5 or so mics.

I now have everyones shipping address, but now have a major problem. The duty, handling charges, storage, and broker fees were billed under one invoice. There is no breakdown that I can see. I am trying to find a way to devide this up. So far I fronted all this as well as the pay pal fees and oversea shipping. It will not be fair for those who only got one small and light mic to pay the same raito of fees as those who got six heavy and big tube mics. I wan't to be fair, and I am not an accountant and am starting to get real busy here in the studio. If anyone has any ideas that will satisify my desire to be fair, PLEASE E-mail AND PM me. The paypal fees are 3% and $0.30 for each transaction. I am lost how to devide up the rest.

Take the total mics (say 50) and divide that into total fees ( say $1500). Each mic is assessed $30. If you bought three, the fee is $90. Add paypal and shipping and you're done

Chance

You can't be concerned about weights of mics. Do as Kenny says - divvy up the total costs less the individual transaction costs by the number of mics, and charge each person this times the number of mics he bought, plus his own shipping and paypal fees.

I'm planning on sending you some extra too, for all the shit you've had to go through. :)

The problem is that it's possible that three of the HRM-10 mics is equal in size and weight of one of the tube mics with metal case.

How much are we talkin' here of the combined (you know), (and the) -n- (such)?

Chance, I am an accountant, and not involved in the group, so I am impartial :D

There are two ways to do it:

- create an allocation factor for each cost based on how that cost was incurred. If it's shipping, then by weight; duty, by value, etc. That is the cumbersome but accurate.

- use a simplified method, which is one factor for all costs. Maybe that is units, maybe it's dollar value of the mic.

Which method you choose is based on the materiality of the costs involved and the difference in results between the two methods.

Today being a holiday, I'd be inclined to do the latter :)

It would take a long long time to weigh, measure, and compute 70 mics. The duty is no problem, and the storage/broker fees are the same for one or 100 mics.(flat rate) The oversea shipping for everything was only $108.00. There is a total of 26 people involved in the buy.

Huh!

Well there ya go...that's why I don't do my own taxes :D

Only $108 !!!!

Just divide by the number of mics and be done with it...we're talking beans here...baby beans...like split peas or lentles.

We're tracking right now, and I am popping in and out of here when we break. Can someone check what the duty is? I think it is 4.9%. Remember Alctron reduced the invoice amount so we wouldn't have to pay full duty. Thats something else I have to compute. I can't remember now, but I think it was $2100,00

$102.90 I believe.

Good the drummer lef to get a different snare.
I need to know the %, so I can use that to evaluate what each paid (original cost) minus 50% I don't have the time today to find out if the duty really is 4.9%. (if someone could find out, that would be cool) The reason I want to be fair, is because we got into this to get a deal and I don't want to overcharge someone who could only get one mic.
