Yes I think I remember getting E-mail from you, and at least 50 other people that were not on original list that was submitted to that company.
Forgive me, but it is almost impossible to reply to all that didn't meet the deadline. If I had dragged this on much longer, all of us that have been waiting so long, are getting anxious. Plus I would keep changing the order with the company, and pretty soon, they wouldn't take me serious any more. I hope you understand.

I looked back, and yes you were on the original list, however there was a period of around 6 or 7 pages of posts where you didn't post anything. My thought is you missed all of the up dates. Another thing might have happened, is if you sent an E-mail and your forum name was not in the E-mail, I wouldn't know who you were. I posted this before that I have recieved over 50 E-mails requesting mics, from names and E-mail that I don't recognise, some were people here who post and never thought to include their forum handle.
Next week I will be setting up a bussiness deal with this company at the NAMM show. After that every one who is a poster on this forum can get these mics at cost. I think it is around 1/4th the cost of OEM (Nady/Apex/MXL. They have a lot more other mics too, as well as mic parts.

what is the deal with these mikes, are they good, does any one have any.
why are they so cheap and what is this "ningbo" thing i dont understand

What kind of deal. Do you mean we'll be able to buy these mics through you in the future? Keep us posted! BTW - will these mics be unbranded...as in, no name? That'd be different. ;)

WOW! That's sweet! At that price you can afford to test quite a few of the models out... Never know, you might find the one you've always wanted!

The reason they are so inexpensive is because we are getting them from the manufacturer. They make mics for Nady, Apex, Marshall/MXL, T-bone to name a few. Of course those name brand names won't be on them. I believe they will be blank. The money we are saving, is the money that the name brands would be making.

Oh, I'm so in on the net deal Chance!!!

Just keep the updates coming, nice work,

Chance, you're an inspiration. I realized I missed the first boat, but I'll be watching this thread to see if any of these generic ribbons are to be had in the future. Very cool. I doubt they'll replace the Royers, but it's the principle of the thing. Stick it to the man.

So Chance, what did you decide on the shipping plan? Like I said...I'm ok no matter...just curious how you're going to move them.

Cool...lemme know when to settle the last bit.

Later

it looks like i missed out.
i just came across this thread researching the RSM-2 as i had ordered a pair of "ShinyBox" 23C's with cinemag transformers... and was fishing around for opinions on the stock ribbon.

SO, if there's still time, i'd like to order one of the HSM-C1200 Tube condensors.

if not, i hope you do another group buy some day!

PS-
Chance - i've fwd'd this post to your email...

Yeah, looks like you missed out... :( It's been a done deal for several days now... If you'll read back through the posts, there is a likely possibility that you can get a mic through Chance after this years NAMM show...

ah well, my ShinyBox ribbons will be here Monday.
so i'm not terribly upset :D

if there's a 2nd group buy, i'm definitely in!

i'll be at NAMM (@ the Ableton booth), so if i can find some time to get away from the booth and see this company there, i'll try to check out a mic or two in person.

chance,
i sent you a mail, you replied to it and confirmend that you got my request.....
but you still have not sent me a request for payment,
have i been left behind?

Heya, Chance, just saw this thread (uh oh, another one of THOSE guys!). Count me in for purchasing some mics when you have some available. I love obscure thrifty possibilities ;-) I need some ribbons in the drawer and I'll check out some others as well.

e-mail is:

mckay at b-oz.com

Thanks, buddy , for all your trouble!

Believe it or not, they will only have 3 mics there they also mfg other things like speakers, cables etc. But get the catalog, it shows the mics

Heres an update
I was just on my Pay pal account to check the funds so I can transfer them. I found a few that I don't understand.
Pay pal sent a request on Jan 2nd to tb33@comcast.net, and it is still listed as pending, which means he never answered that request that Paypal sent him. Heres another that is Pending ( not responding to paypal request) rpn@virginia.edu , another one pending is jarickl@gmail.com
These mics are being readied as we read this. If everyone that commited would have followed thru, this would have been finished by now. Does anyone recognise these E-dresses ?
