i'm just hoping that the paypal request doesn't somehow end up in my bulk mail folder...

Same here...just waiting on the shipping request. I'm ready to pay once I receive it. My drum situation changed as well. You said you ordered extras for warranty purposes and maybe to sell a couple? My drum situation has changed and I'm in need of a similar model mic to match one of the others I've ordered, maybe and ACM 583, for an overhead. After you get through all of the fun stuff you're doing now, I just wanted to express my interest in getting another mic if available on this shipment. :):)

PayPal Shipping Costs

Also I have sent some orders out THAT HAVE NOT PAID FOR SHIPPING!

Hey folks, if you were lucky to be one of the first to get your mics shipped out please do follow up immediately by checking your PayPal account and send payment to Chance. Clearly he's is doing a lot of work on this project; sounds like we can ease his process by completing payment asap on our ends.

Anywho, I am stoked. Don't catch on fire before sending my mics Chance. :p

dude i hope my order still exists! i cant wait to get my paypal request and hand you the rest of my money, haha. so close!!

Yeah, same here. I'm one of those who sent my order with one email address but my paypal account was for a different email address. I know you said you'll get to those last. I just hope I'm not forgotten.

And best of luck with the wildfires. Looks like you're in the clear for the time being....

Cheers,

I've got a lot of Pay Pal requests to send out so just be patient. I tried to post several new types of mics, but HR won't allow it (?) I did post them in PSW>REP>WHATEVER WORKS>HERE WE GO AGAIN. If anyone could copy/paste to here, that would be great. With my computer problems, that would take away a lot of time that I could be filling orders.

The ACM-3 which is lacking the shockmounts...aside from the distinctive look, how close are the specs of the body to the R*y*r it looks like? If the the body is close, couldn't we just purchase the shockmounts for the counterpart or some SDM that would fit it for those who really want to use the mic but not wait? Seems it may work if time/use is an issue. Can't be that much for one of those shockmounts and if not, that's probably what I'll do.

Just log on to Paypal from time to time and check. If Chance sends you a request, it'll show up on Paypal even if the email goes awry.

I just checked mine. Nothing yet.

New Mic Pics from Chance

Chance's copy from the other forum:

Pic 1: "It looks like your every day mic from China. but it's an XY config'd with (2) 22,5mm capsules.and 2 independent FET balanced output transformers."
(I inserted the extra "under the hood" view for ease of viewing...)

Pic 2: "This ribbon (resembles the 77 a tad) is variable polar pattern with a mechanical valve that slides over behind the ribbon. On the FET power amp, there is a pot to vari the voltage to the mic"

Pic 3: "I know, this looks crude like a WW2 German grenade it's a ribbon and uses a 12AX7 more details later"

Pic 4: "And this is a pregnant German grenade. Also a ribbon. A double ribbon, and phantom powered.the two ribbons are mounted in close proximity in vertical axis 90 degrees horizontally. It has two seperate FET"

Hope that does the trick...

I think the "brand name" shockmount is about 3 times the price of the ACM-3.

I'll be patient and wait on the shockmounts in January. I ordered extras as well. Kinda important for me, I have a number of uses for them. But if they take longer to get... they take longer to get.

Mics from Pic #1 & #3 look interesting.

Chance... any word on the preamps yet?

Also I have sent some orders out THAT HAVE NOT PAID FOR SHIPPING! I figure that if you guys trusted me with $30,000.00, I can trust you to pay me the small (by comparison) cost of shipping.
To those who have received a request for shipping funds, the paypal request comes as an email, but it also shows up as a line item in paypal (like the original request did), right? I've been dutifully scanning my spam folder, but I'm more confident of seeing it in paypal's list if it goes there. Like the rest of us, when I hear there are folks who haven't paid, I'm scrambling through all the info I got.

I just got two packages returned to me. they were both going to Canada. I never had this problem before, but Fed ex is asking for invoices and paper work. Is there duty going to Canada? Should I make them gifts? (if you get my drift) I never had this problem before. OK back to packing, measuring, weighing, printing, labeling, requesting, and shipping.

Oh yeah. I posted two more new mics on PSW. (I still can't upload jpgs here) If anyone can bring them here to HR, Go for it. Nice job with the last import from PSW.

OK heres what I found out from fed ex. Shipping by air is probably best out of USA. By ground, I need to provide EIN number, fill out 5 copies of documents, and Fed ex takes to the border and contacts you. (if you are in Canada.) You then need to get a broker who clears the merch and gets it shipped to you. By air is the simplist, quickest, and painless.
Lemme nough.

Chance, I don't know if you're doing much international shipping, but I use USPS Global Express.

Do the whole thing online - customs forms and paid mailing labels printed out all at once. Then there's a great new feature called a "scan sheet" - a single bar code that represents all the USPS shipments being sent out ( can be a mix of domestic and international). You can even schedule a carrier pickup, they'll scan that one sheet, pick up your boxes and let you get back to making hit records.

I do a lot of shipping and have found USPS is more convenient, cheaper and easier to use than UPS or FedEX.

Thanks Michael, I'll give that a shot. I believe I used USPS last time.

Still haven't gotten a request, sigh......

I thought maybe he's doing it alphabetically.
My email starts with a "t". So if that's true it might be a while.
I still check frequently, though.

My mics arrived!

Got 'em today at noon, Michigan time. Two ACM-3's and two ACM-4's. They look beautiful - haven't (of course) plugged them in yet.

Mics are boxed in very attractive blonde wooden cases (with a blue lid ribbon). TNC logo on the mic body is black and very pro looking - these mics look almost boutiquey!

The ACM-4 looks kind of like an electric razor. It's not white (the color I ordered), but actually silver - like an Oktava MC012 in color. A mild disappointment (I was hoping for that vintage white look that Sennheiser used to have on their older 421s). There's also a shiny gold trim on the ACM-4.

The ACM-3 is a spitting image of a certain mic we all know and love (my friend ROY has one - hint, hint). It comes with a velvety blue slip bag, in addition to the wood box. Nice.

There are mic clips, no shockmounts yet, as we all knew. Clips are decent quality - plastic is ductile, not brittle, with a tighting screw. Useful to have.

Haven't plugged them in yet. Won't have a chance until sometime tommorow, but I'll report back with at least a first impression.

Well done Chance. Only problem is, my kids want to play with them. Now where can I put these things high enough up where they can't be reached by a kitchen chair...
