Would it be a safe assumption that these will be "very close" to the CL stuff?

I don't recall anyone EVER saying that. On one of the prodigy threads they did have a pic that looked like MAYBE they were using the same transformers. If you look at the inside pics, you'll see they don't look very similar at all.

I'm late to the party but I'm wondering if there is a description of the 3 different preamps.

Excellent point! It sounds like you are a recovering analog a haulic. LOL

"analog a haulic"
ha, now i have a new word for the keyboardist i work with that still hauls his b3 and leisly around to every gig...
:D

Was there ever confirmation that was actually one of the TNC pres? Someone mentioned golden age project advertised an upcoming 73 pre in SOS, so maybe that prototype was completely unrelated.

I never noticed any sort of confirmation, and actually, I'd be surprised if they were the same, since I don't believe Chance's have been fabbed yet, and they'll be based on a new design.

Not that I wasn't looking at those pics with a magnifying glass, and it may be that we'll see some similar parts, but I never saw any reason to believe that they were the same thing.

but we also suspect that is the 81 not the 73, as the C-Labs is a 1073 clone it should look very different. One of those pages on Prodigy or GS I think has the info sheets for the 81,84+73. The group buy site only shows the 73 info.

Chance, does that photo of the guts on the Prodigy thread look like/similar to what you saw? /we should expect?
thanks!

Group Buy Payment Process.

Hi Guys,

Here's how I think we'll handle the payment process:

I've been in-and-out and away from my PC today... and it's continuing even now... Got a lot of things on my plate today...

I feel comfortable with the Credit Card checkout as it stands. I don't feel so comfortable with the virtual check checkout right now, as some of the gateway specs were changed last night and I've not had time to extensively test the code...

SO, that being said, I will open up group buy payments FOR CREDIT CARD PAYMENTS ONLY, for right now... Later, after I've tested the updated code for the Virtual Checks, I'll turn those on.

If you must pay with virtual check, hold off until this is enabled, which shouldn't be very long.

Also, if there are any problems with the process, I will be able to debug this "one payment process at-a-time" as opposed to having to fight 2 fires at the same time... I know, I know, this isn't industry standard on software developement and production releases, but it's only me... I don't have a staging area or a QA department to bang away at a page before it's put into production, so this is how I have to work it...

If you should encounter any problems during payment, please let me know and I'll fix them.

Thanks in advance,

Randy

The line input doesn't have the same gain range as the mic/DI in-- which makes it impossible to drive them hard. So, for synths I run them into a Radial DI>Chameleon Labs 7602 MIC IN-- you'll want that extra gain, as these should also sound great and thick when overdriven a bit.

Very good point. I have other options for when I want a hard driven sound. Right now my bigger concern is getting stuff in clean with a good sound. So I think going in line input at 10k ohms and with less hiss is the better option.

Let the REAL games begin!

I guess I'll have to wait for the check thing to work.

My CC company declined at first (and then I was getting "duplicate transaction" errors when I tried after that). I called them, and it was a security thing - unusual transaction, etc., then they were cool with it and let it through.

virtual checks will have lower processing fee, right?

Yes. Currently the rates for both are:

Credit Cards: 2.75% + $0.30 - I know this isn't much lower than we were paying before with PayPal, but it was the best that I could do considering the type of transactions we're processing... Matter of fact, I felt really lucky that anyone would take the account...the very reason that we had to leave PayPal...

Virtual Checks: 1.25% + $1.25 - This too was a bit higher than I expected, and one of the issues that I had with the processor...and why I'm holding off before I start virtual check payments...trying to get the "original rate" that I was quoted, which was quite a bit lower...

Thanks,

Randy

Some people mention they have more than one order. Is that possible under a single registration?
A single order will be fine, as long as it can be split into more than one shipment.
