So whats the scoop on the Groove Tube 1B FET?

Has anyone compared the 1B to the SP B1?

I just saw a DMP3 and a GT 1B for $275 bundle.
I just paid $185 for the DMP3 and $80 for a SP B1 $265..

Gear lust...please don't respond with acronyms 1B, B1,1B1,b11,bb1b1..

I don't know anything about the newer, re-issued 1B's . . . but the older, disontinued models were very cool. If it sounds anything like the old ones, I'd give it a big thumbs-up. GT still seems to make some pretty good mics, so I'd give it a try in a heartbeat if I were in the market for a new (lower-priced) mic.

Help

Hi,

I'm sorry for the multiple postings. I'm new to this forum and I would really appreciate some help. I'm a recording rookie and I just bought a CAD E-200 mic, which I let charge for about three hours and then tested. It makes a "flutter" noise in the recording when I sing with the levels correct, etc. Could this be caused by the mic not being fully charged? Please let me know and thanks for your help in advance.

You don't charge a condenser mic.

You just turn on the phantom power, plug it in and go.

Ya with Cads{E-100,E-200 and E-300 I don't know 'bout the 350} you charge 'em up.. two 9volt NiCads..are you useing a pop filter?Try that..might be the interal shock moveing around..None the less try a popfilter and see if that helps..good luck

I was wondering how the GT 1B FET is, too. Its saw it on sale at a web site for just $180.- plus free shipping.

CAD-E200

If the E-200 you have is brand spakin new! you will have to charge it for up too 24- 48 hours so that the nickel platted battires to hold a charge after that a couple of hours will do.

Thanks!

Hi everyone,

Thanks for your suggestions. I will try to charge it longer (I charged it for 12.5 hours overnight) and test it again.

Sincerely,

Erick

Just for future reference - if you have a question on a different topic, start a new thread, don't hijack someone elses.

I already completed the purchase of a Studio Projects-B1 from Micguys ($79) and a DPM3 from Digitraxx..($185)....it was a definite sweet upgrade on my Yammie MD8 setup.

of course while waiting for the shpmt, i see this other "bundle" for like $265...Groove Tube ($250) and DPM3...gearobsessionaddictionlust...

reviews looked pretty good for this Groove Tube mic...but I fold on this hand...next......RNC/Compressor and Reverb forum bound...
