Gripe: Time signatures

GRRRRRRRRRR. Seriously, sequencer programmers need to realise that there are time signatures other than 4/4. I tend to use Cubase's Hitpoints feature often. Well, try that on a drum loop that's in 11/8 :eek: :mad: Yes dammit, the tune itself is in 11/8. Now I need to cut the whole damn thing by hand, load it in a sampler, and program the MIDI timing, because ReCycle doesn't deal with it all that well either. Pfft! !#@$!#@$!
 
Erm... Cubase does deal with time signitures. :confused:

I did a HUGE assignment for uni with a time signiture change nearly every bar... I didn't have to play it live luckilly!
 
I don't think you read my post carefully. It's the hitpoints feature that doesn't deal with odd time signatures well. Tempo/time signature changes at the tempo track level are not an issue. Unless you want to have different time signatures for different MIDI tracks with non-coinsiding barlines, but then again, most notation programs can't deal with that either.
 
Ah... you are right. I have been caught speed reading again. I'll slink into the corner again now... :rolleyes:
 
i think BANDS need to learn about timings outside of 4/4. Im sick of hearing that one aspect of music used again and again. You are right about most programs not dealing with anything else either.
