Hi. I'm new to the boards as well as making my own music. I've been a lyricist for years and I can hear the separate instruments in my head, as well as the arrangement, but didn't know until now that there was software that would allow me to finally make my own music. I'm old and not up on this computer stuff.
Ok, enough about the old foggy...
My problem is that I am using Music Maker 16. I understand a little of it and am getting the hang of the in depth tools, but I'm having some problems with the simple stuff. First, I can't figure out how to set the time limit of my song. I.E. I can't figure out how to set the field so that it's 3 minutes or 5 minutes etc.
Second, I need to know if there are any GOOD virtual instruments that I can download, that I can play using a computer keyboard, that will then export what I have played to a midi file that can then be edited in Music Maker 16 Premium. As I say...I can hear the instruments in my head and I can play by ear enough that if I had a good midi file that I could then edit I think I could finally put music to my lyrics after 30 years.
Third, does anyone know of any in depth tutorials for MM 16 Premium?
Obviously I'd love to have an I-Pad with Garage Band and smart instruments...but I only make 611 dollars a month on disability.
God bless and thank you in advance for your help to an old Geezer with a dream.
