I have a PDA complete with full recording software. It's great for recording on the road, mixing, adding drums etc. However, as it stands right now I use the built-in mic for the recording.

My PDA only has a headphone jack.

Is there any way to use that headphone jack as a line-in for an external mic? I'd really like to plug a small mic in for better quality recording.

Thanks.

nope, sorry
headphone output is for sending signal out of the unit.

are you any good with a soldering iron?

well if your very clever with electronics and handy with a soldering iron im sure theres a way to bypass the internal mic.... this will be quite hard becuase you still want to use the internal mic, also getting the levels right so that you dont overload the circuitry could be really agrrevating. Maybe you could have a look on some of the pda forums, theres always clever people tinkering with thier stuff to make it better.
