Great rock mix, vox??

Cheers alot man. I cant wait to get the vocals done properly. Strange how one of my best recordings is a live recording not in a studio!!

Sounds good.

Bass might be a little much. Vocal is a bit sibilant in parts.

This beats the piss out of any live recording I've done though. :)

Yeah, well it is live and the band werent really feeling up for it that night. But i aint caring about the performance more the quality of the mix.
There are parts were the lo end of the bass isnt so constant. Not sure if that is my attack and release times for compression at the wrong or if it is the bass players fault.
Cloneboy, cheers. This is my style of mixing/mastering. I like loads of bass and lo end and everything to be upfront and loud.
I really need to record these vocals properly.

Recording everything close mic technique lessens spill, and with carefull positioning of amps and drummer etc spill is very little.
ps. the vox were overdubed.

That semi clean guitar that comes in at the break at: 1:44
is a little rough on the listeners.

The kit sounds incredible...you never lose anything sonically no matter what's going on.

work on the vocals as mentioned and you've got a great product.


Where was this recorded????
 
Cheers alot shookie. It was recorded in an art studio where my band practice. Just your average largish room, no sound proofing or dampening or anything. Just the room.
 
hey ecktronic, sounds like the beginning vocals are a little off-pitch and unsure, sorta like the singer's not quite comfortable inbetween the soft-spoken parts and the forceful vox later in the song. but it really starts to match the music as the song progresses.

a live performance AND band mates weren't up for it? i'm jealous. ;) i enjoyed your other tunes, as well.
 
Cheers v6v6v6. That song is my mates band and the others is the band im in called Serotone. We are going on indieindieradio and aii radio (both internet radio) . should be cool.
The singing was just a rough take. I hope i get time to do the vox properly as it will make the mix sound complete.

Were you the singer? It got better as it went on, that much is for sure. Please redo the vocals and repost.... I was into it.... :D
 
Its my mates band i said. So i wasnt the singer and i cant even really sing that well. The singer is a good singer, but it was rushed.
Check out my bands music on the link. Every other song apart from "LIVE". Any feedback would be apreciated.
