GO PACKERS!
I've noticed that whenever I drag or resize a window,I'm getting "popping".
Is there some setting somewhere that can alleviate this?
I don't seem to recall this in earlier versions of Sonar.

more questions than answers...

Why don't you post the rest of your hardware specs?

I'm not even sure this belongs here - you should be posting this in the Computer Recording and Soundcards forum.

I was thinking this may be a picture cache problem,or related to graphics use(meters, etc).
If this is not solved I could probably take it elsewhere.
PIV2.4
1 gig ram
40gig OS drive
80 gig audio drive
Delta 66
Midisport 2x2
Sonar3

You listed everything but the most important one - the video card you're using.

Have you turned off all "visual effects" in Windows? That usually helps alot!

I agree, this may well be a videocard problem. Can you just swap out the videocard for another?

I had a similar problem when I first installed XP.

Problem went away after I DL'd & installed the new drivers for my Delta 44

I think it's a Radeon 7000 family.
At least that's what comes up on the device manager.I'm not really sure how to figure it out,and for the life of me I can't seem to find the papers that came with my computer.:(

I will check out your suggestions, and come to think of it I should probably update my drivers, the last two times I did though,I ended up going back to the older version.(M-audio)

Turning off hardware accelaration and noodling around with the slider in the display settings might help too...

Woohoo, this Powerstrip thingie WORKS!

I've set the PCI latency of my Nvidea videocard to 80 (instead of 248) and now I'm perfectly able to scroll & magnify during playing in HS2004. I can even internet and send mail during playing.

Quite amazing actually.

Ped, what program are you using for adjusting the PCI latency? I'm wondering which program to try...
