Grace m101 and FastTrack Pro

Would sound quality improve with a Grace m101 preamp between my mic and FastTrack Pro, or would I be wasting my money on the Grace? My DAW is Live 7.

A grace is a nice peice...like a wire with gain...no color.

But if anything else is dirty on the way to the destination...there goes the reason to ante up the extra scratch for it.

just don't involve the fast track pro (ie. don't use it to amplify the signal) and you'll get the benefits of the grace w/o the fast track.

He has no choice but to use the FastTrack...at least the converters. How else to get the signal into the computer? Maybe you are implying that he can bypass the preamps in the fastTrack by using the line input and keeping the gain at unity. I use my emu 0404 with an outboard preamp and it seems to work very well. I've been told that the line input bypasses the preamps on that unit...don't know about the FastTrack.
