"Paradise By The Dashboard Light", a la 2009!!

I'm a sucker for tasteful wah, so I wasn't disappointed! Since I have a filthy mind, I love the lyrics.

Well done Greg.

Only had a chance to listen on laptop speakers so far, but it sounds great on those, so that says a lot. Everything comes through really clear and especially the guitars sound great.

Are the drums real or programmed? It's hard to tell on the lapper...I'll listen later on monitors

Sounds awesome
Fuck yeah they're real! :D

Thanks for the listen and comments. :)

Haha, thanks man! :)

Shouldn't the lyrics read "...don't choke it, just stroke it"?

No. The song is called GRAB the Power Line. Grab. A stroke isn't a grab. A choke is. Just grab hold. ;)
My comment was tongue in cheek, and referring to the obvious sexual innuendo of the song itself. Climb the pole, etc. I don't want someone to choke my pole, if you know what I mean.

Sexual innuendo? The song is about the flow of electrons to create power for humankind.

Your stuff isn't exactly my style of stuff but I enjoy listening to it.

You seem to have a tendency to allow drums sit on top of and squash your great guitar tracks. Why?

Screw the drums!

Let the guitar tracks rule! ;)

There's nothing worse than a rock song with drums low in the mix. This isn't folk or jazz shit. If you're on the fence with the drums, always go louder. I personally don't feel the guitars are being buried at all. The snare is a little up front, but not bad to me. Thanks for listening, but you need to have your ears checked. :D

NO NO NO!

I was inferring that your drums are sitting a bit too much on top of the mix, but I wasn't inferring that the drums shouldn't be strong......just a tad less strong because your friggin guitar tracks are great. It's like AC/DC shit. The guitars carry the load and make the song. Do you get it? ;) ;)

I get it, and genuinely appreciate it, but I disagree. Listen to AC/DC. The drum playing is minimal, but their presence is right up there. In this one, the verses are supposed to be dominated by the toms rumbling. During the other parts, I think the drum/guitar balance is pretty good, or at least good enough. Could I bring the drums down some? Sure. But I don't want to. This is some of my better drumming. :p

You have great skills Greg. I liked how I can kind of hear your room/ space in some of those buvox. Great sound. Must be so satisfying to produce stuff of this quality. Keep on truckin!

Thanks a lot MA. That's cool you noticed the backing vox like that, as I did back way off the mic for those and tried to get soom natural room in there. I guess I did it. :D

Fantastic tune Greg....that guitar pattern in the intro sounded a bit modern proggish :p! reminded me of Mastadon a little... Not the usual stuff from you but way cool! Love that chorus! Great job all the way around!!!

Cool tune. Is a little off your normal path, but in a good way. What interface/preamps are you using now-a-days ? Same as always ?

Seems like the kick may cause the mix to pump a little bit. Other than that sounds great, good job.

Thanks Queepy! I was joking with Nakarita about making a prog/punk song, and this was the start of it, but I decided to scrap the idea and just leave it as is.

Thanks BM. Yeah same shit as always. Firepod.

Thanks a lot dude. I kinda like the kick. :D

You bastard! Every song you sound better and better. :D The drums are perfect the way they are. I also love to mix drums pretty heavy, so they give power to the song. Awesome job as always.

Man, I miss doing collabs. Take care, my friend.
